... in it and a light layer of wetness forms on your face as you walk through the dense fog. In the 15minutes it takes to find my hostel, the streets become busier with the shadows of people going to work. Trees with naked branches seem to crack through the mist, silhouetted by the few lights streaming through the square. It wont be long until it lifts, and the square will be crowded with people starting their day.

Even though it was quite a hot day there was a chilly eerie feeling in the barrack liek there should of been people in there staring at your from thier bunks, we were glad to get back outside and leave the camp. That evening after getting back to Krakow I showed Cesca how boys shop. I needed an outfit that would cover both our Moulin Rouge trip and my birthday party in a few weeks so we visited Krakow mall for a look. In just over an hour ...

One that struck me was the "Standing Room", where four people would be forced to stand in a tiny enclosed area, perhaps 1 to 2 square metres, for days without food or sufficient air. Even those who survived must have envied the dead at times. Several rooms showed us the exact procedures new inmates faced, from removing ...
Krakow, Poland danestern... strip outside and walk into a large room that turned out to be a gas chamber. Others, especially children, were burned alive in crematoriums. Those that tried to rebel were lined up against a wall and shot on the spot. Unbelievable. Auschwitz was mainly a work camp and everyone was forced to walk up to 20 km roundtrip to the factories without proper shoes, clothes, nourishment or any other basic necessities of life. Most people perished within months of their ...
Krakow, Poland atlpilot36... available on the net: www.kries.info. A ferry then took us to the island of Brac. This beautiful island, known for its olive oil and creamy marble, is transformed in the summer by a horde of European tourists. Fortunately, we're there in the shoulder season so we scored a wonderful sea-side hotel room in Bol for less than $100 per night (the rate doubles in July and August). It's a ...

Perhaps so that when they ride into battle they look like avenging angels on horseback. The most famous item in the museum, though, is not a piece of armor, nor is it an amber-and-ivory crucifix, nor a turquoise-and-coral-encrusted ceremonial sword and sheild set. The most famous item is a painting, renowned the world over, by that ...
Krakow, Poland laura99... camp. Paid for an English tour of 3 1/2 hours. The tour guide took us to Birkenau camp which was the biggest camp and had 4 cremotoriams compared to the 1 that Auchwitz had. Saw the living conditions of the prisoners and heard terrible stories of how they were treated, a very sombering experience, we all felt quite sick when we came out, something that everyone must experience though. Drove onto Krakow and found a camping ground that was close to the city and ...
Krakow, Poland ants... believe these seven sites give exceptional spiritual strength. The particular location was in a corner of Wawel not signed and unknown to most of the thousands of tourists who visit the place. Aga and I spent some time here, along with half a dozen others who also knew of the significance of the place. I spent the following morning wandering around Kazimierz, looking at the Jewish buildings and synagogues that had survived the horrors of the Second World War. I visited Krakow ...
