Chiang Mai part 1 -- and a minor disappearing act
A quick start to Chiang Mai before I head out of civilization again for the next week...
My surprisingly comfortable aircon bus to Chiang Mai pulled in around 3:00, and even before we'd stopped I had a good feeling about the city. The last 30 minutes of the ride I thought about what I wanted to do while I was there, and came up with …
Bangkok - The Israeli Connection
I'm in bangkok! It's quite smelly in here...I don't plan to be in here for much long than a day or two. The flight here was quite a story: I requested a seat near the window. This got me the prize of sitting next to a 50 year old woman! Having rejoyced of that fact, and got aquainted with her, we took off. After we got the meals (which were quite …
Stella And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamhostel
Stepping out of the air conditioned taxi into the intense heat of a Chiang Mai afternoon we wonder, and not for the first time, why are our bags so bloody heavy! It is HOT today. Back in Koh Samui another taxi driver had faked a shiver and said 'brrrrr' when told him we were off to Chiang Mai. We had looked at each other and thought; oh no, hope it …
Chiang Mai

Don't get us wrong there are …
Chiang Mai a tale of two cities
So after a 16 hour train journey on the Bangkok to Chiang Mai sleeper train we made it, the train was a really good experience, so much better facilities than we'd expected, big seats at the bottom that could be made up into a bed (big enough for two at a squeeze) and a fold down bed on the upper deck - the trip was made all the better when we got …

Stella Is awesome

Green Tulip House is the best place I've stayed so far on my world trip. Clean, spacious, pretty and comfortable, the hostel is more like a hotel, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. For Nine and Stella, nothing is too much trouble and it's clear they really want to help their guests have the best time whilst in Chiang Mai. The amazing low price is the icing on the cake. Thanks Green Tulip!
