Outside the Tower across the street is a monument and little park to the Merchant Navy. It lists all who lost their lives in both World Wars. There were 12,000 in WWI and 24,000 in WWII. I think our generation sometimes forgets the numbers of people who actually died. These monuments make you stop and think for a while about the loss of life that occurred.

... one of the worlds worst airlines, good luck. I rather smugly have sauntered off to emirates and am using the time to enjoy the nice seats with a charger for my phone to write this entry. All the staff are wearing funny hats with what seems to be a feather hanging off the front which makes all conversation with them really awkward as I'm not sure where to look..
