A place where time is lost.
So my times nearly up here now and i have had the most amazing time here. It was definitaly the right place to start my working visa and i have been settled in easily to the ramblings of my boss telling me i should be careful of snakes and murderers in the outback!! Pete at the Black Panther has definitely given me a good education on Austrailia …
Great Ocean Road
Great Ocean Road De neus vol van tours, bussen, lunchsandwiches, photo-opportunities, etc..
Send in the clouds
Took a day trip to the Grampions... a beautiful, rocky range that looks like a boomerang. Explored several water falls, visited an aboriginal site, and hiked about 5 or 6 kilometers up but never got a glimpse at the top of the Grampions. Better luck next time. Good people and our driver, Ash, was a good sort.
Grampians & Ballarat
Got up and got ready, checked out of the hostel and went to the tourist centre to find out what we could still do in Grampians National Park. Found out that 120 landslides back in January had wiped out much of the park and main road accessing many of the key sights. On top of that, the rain & drizzle meant we weren't going to get the best views …
The Grampians National Park
After the Great Ocean Road we headed north up to the Grampians National Park in our little rental car. This is when we first really noticed how bad the drought is in Australia at the moment. The land is so parched and brown and nothing is growing. Animals are grazing on little more than the bare soil and the remains of recent bush fires are visible …

This hostel is the best get away place for most. It's clean and quiet and a friendly place to stay, full of the most interesting people, such as mountian runners and plant scientists and young active folk such as myself keen to hike and do as much as possible. With the help of AJ and Jason who run this hostel they are always happy to help everyone in finding what they are looking for with as much info as possible. There are quiet rooms for those craving some peace and quiet and a tv room for those who wish to get lost inside the box. A huge kitchen and eating area with an awesome view.
I'd definitely come here again as it has been a great hostel experience for me having made many friends out off it i leave with full hands :)

Definately a place to visit for a friendly clean environment. Of course it's clean. I cleaned it for 2 weeks haha
