    Good size rooms with a strong a/c. Pool very private and has a good location. Bit of a walk to the beach

    We set our alarms to get up early as Langkawi is more of a daytime destination, so we wanted to take full advantage.     Today after an hour long delay at Kuala Lumpur airport we finally made it to the island of Langkawi......it is paradise! From the aeroplane all you can see are large mountains of rainforest and endless clean beaches, we could definitely get used to this!     Moped hired for 3 days at 107 Ringgit including insurance. Travelled to the north of the island and cable car, then across and down to Kuah and back to panai Chenang beach. Cloudy all day, rainy in the afternoon. Couldn't see much up the cable car.

    We were a little unsure about Langkawi before we visited, but as our nearest beach island (excluding Penang), we thought it would be rude not to give it a go! We were very pleasantly surprised, so what with the cheap alcohol and the profusion of public holidays, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the Proton will become a regular visitor at the mosque over the next couple of years!
