Upon arrival to Ushuaia, I didn´t know what to expect. All i heard it is known as the "End of the World" or "Fin Del Mundo" in espanol because it is the southern most city in the world. Not sure what categorizes a city versus a town, but i assume it´s an airport. anyways, enough with the geographical jargon, this place is awesome. Today was yet another wonderful day in Ushuaia. After meeting with Catherine for breakfast we decided that we would make the trip to Lago Esmerelda or the Emerald Lake. Not sure how we would get there, but we agreed to leave at about 11 or so for the bus station. After getting up hungover, the day was the most beautiful i've seen in Ushuaia. Chances are I will not venture to this area again, so i fought the hangover and met the English Dans at the bus station to hike to the summit of Tierra Del Fuego. The Dans took a day off before this hike and i decided to go big the night before. Me voilà arrivé au Sud, tout au Sud! Ushuaia, ville d'explorateur et d'aventurier par excellence, semble n'exister que comme point d edépart pour les 'croisières' vers l'Antarctique. Aujourd'hui, randonnée jusque au Glacier Martial, qui domine la ville. Ca monte pas mal (près de 1000m de dénivellé) mais la vue vers Ushuaia et la baie est à couper le souffle. Une partie de chemin passe également dans une forêts plutôt jolie, qui rend le trajet plus agréable. Quant au glacier lui-même, il est assez petit, et pour quelqu'un qui est allé en Islande, peu impressionant...
