First night wasn't too bad staying here although a lizard peed on one of our heads in the six bed dorm. The private room was a luxury, it was clean and spacious perfect for after a camping trip.

We were happy to stay here, even though it was longer than anticipated. Although most people come here to go to Fraser Island, when we were stuck here because of the recent cyclone the staff went out of their way to take good care of us. All in all an excellent stay.

We stayed in this hostel in April 2012, one night either side of our Fraser Island trip. The staff were really helpful when we checked in and allowed us to get into our room early. The room that we got, though was not great. No carpet and pretty shabby all round. We managed because it was only for the one night.

When we got back from Fraser we were given a slightly better room (there was carpet!). Overall, Frasers on Rainbow is ok, but I wasn't wowed!

Constant Loud Music and Mediocre Rooms

We stayed two nights at this hostel, preparing for our trip to Fraser Island. The private rooms are pretty run-down with simple bunk beds. What is nice is the balcony, yet the comfort of using it is reduced by the constant loud music that is on throughout the hostel till late at night. Wouldn't recommend staying here if you are looking for a comfortable stay.

Left the ranch early this morning to drive to Rainbow Beach. Fairly uneventful drive (although a bug male kangaroo did jump out into the middle of the road at one point and we had to honk the horn) with stops for snacks/lunch. Saw a few more cool road signs and managed to get photos of them. Got to Rainbow Beach in the late afternoon. Quickly …

Giacomo and I arrived in Rainbow Beach with a night bus from Airlie Beach on Monday morning, and became a bit disappointed when we discovered that we had left paradise for a place that wasn't anything like paradise at all. Rainbow Beach has a beautiful beach and is the first place we've been to since the start of our backpacking journey where you …

Brisbane was a quick two night stop - With only one full day to enjoy the city. And what better way to spend a day then at the zoo! Australia Zoo was home of the crocs, the koalas and the kangeroos and boy did we get some close encounters with all three. We saw a croc show, with some very brave - ahem stupid - people, as well as feeding some …
