First night wasn't too bad staying here although a lizard peed on one of our heads in the six bed dorm. The private room was a luxury, it was clean and spacious perfect for after a camping trip.

We were happy to stay here, even though it was longer than anticipated. Although most people come here to go to Fraser Island, when we were stuck here because of the recent cyclone the staff went out of their way to take good care of us. All in all an excellent stay.

We stayed in this hostel in April 2012, one night either side of our Fraser Island trip. The staff were really helpful when we checked in and allowed us to get into our room early. The room that we got, though was not great. No carpet and pretty shabby all round. We managed because it was only for the one night.

When we got back from Fraser we were given a slightly better room (there was carpet!). Overall, Frasers on Rainbow is ok, but I wasn't wowed!

Constant Loud Music and Mediocre Rooms

We stayed two nights at this hostel, preparing for our trip to Fraser Island. The private rooms are pretty run-down with simple bunk beds. What is nice is the balcony, yet the comfort of using it is reduced by the constant loud music that is on throughout the hostel till late at night. Wouldn't recommend staying here if you are looking for a comfortable stay.

    Day 57

A travel blog entry by becky_whitmore on Oct 16, 2014

I had an awful night's sleep, it was so cold! We're up bright and early again for our last day on the island. It's quite a long journey to Lake McKenzie but once we're there it's stunning! We dive straight in to the water and me and Alex go for a long swim up the lake; I've forgotten my phone so I have to swim back to the beach to get it and all …

    Day 54

A travel blog entry by becky_whitmore on Oct 13, 2014

Got to Rainbow Beach around 1pm and had 3 hours until our tour briefing for Fraser Island so I asked reception to recommend something to do other than go to the beach and he suggested the walk to Carlo Sandblow; it was incredible! I walked up a long dirt track and then through forest and eventually I came out to an opening and it looked like a huge …

What a great shout having spoken to other groups since! This is three days all inclusive camping on the amazing Fraser Island driving a 4x4, swimming in crystal clear lakes, seeing tutrles and dolphins, …

    Noosa... Nooosa Noosa Noosa

A place where even though there is nothing to do, you always want another night!

We intended to stay for 2 nights and ended up spending 4 nights there, that was however because the prices were CHEAP (Well, for Aussie standards) and the National Parks were dotted around like McDonalds!

    There …

17/3 (Monday) I start my new tour today, which takes me from Sydney to Cairns, stopping at the main destinations along the East Coast. I met my group (of 19 others, half German and half are English!) at 3pm. We headed down to circular quay for another round of jet boating across the harbour. I did the exact same ride with my Oz Into group so I knew …
