... To the West is Raffles place and the skyscrapers of the Financial District. To the south east the Gardens of the Bay and its futuristic man made trees. ... We done with washing and ironing. Not many people use the laundry on port days so it is easy to get things done.

Helen spent the morning watching "Notting Hill" and enjoying it. Then to the pizziera for lunch and listening to some good chamber music by four ladies on the various forms of the violin in the Piazza.

... just finishing some renovations, so it was the evening before their big grand opening. Lots of people around and it was all very festive, the smell of jasmine was overpowering.

After that, I got an oyster omelette and sat down beside a nice couple, who told me I was making the right choice and Singapore is too expensive for teachers like me. Maybe if I worked at a private regular daytime school, it would be alright, but working at a "tuition" is ****.

... probably have had a doctor check it and give me stitches. Because now, 3 weeks later I still have a small hole in my leg. Thats gonna be one massive scar.
