A Great Hostel at a Great Price

This was my first experience in a hostel, and it turned out to be a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, giving me a map and showing me where I should go. The power went out in the afternoon due to some construction outside, but the staff had a great sense of humor about it and put flashlights in the stairwells. The only negative thing was the breakfast - which was very basic - but what I was expecting for the price. I would stay at this hostel again.

I am already starting to feel like I am back in Canada. While I walked around Dublin yesterday I found a convenience store selling Timmy's coffee. Yesterday was spent bussing and walking around Dublin. It's decent city. I do prefer Amsterdam over Dublin but I enjoyed the music and seeing Dublin Castle and the various Churches. I only got lost a few …

This weekend, I went on one of the most amazing trips to a beautiful country with my friend Ian! Being Irish, I had some knowledge under my belt about this country, but this trip was a truly memorable experience for me. On Thursday afternoon, I flew out of Madrid to go into Dublin around 4:30 Spanish time. We landed in Dublin around 7 Irish time ( …

February break had finally arrived an I wasn't going to waste a second of it. This break I was travelling with a friend I had met at university. Naomi is from Kansas, USA and is also studying here in Amiens for the full school year. We were both super excited to be spending our full break exploring different cities of Ireland - our first stop, …

At the risk of sounding exactly like my mom, I have to say that I forgot how cramped economy class actually is. My upgraded status with United has spoiled me terribly (though certain unkind persons have commented that I was spoiled before my status was upgraded) and I am used to having all that extra room for my insanely long legs. But in spite ...

      Dublin day 1

29th December Dublin Today I got up early. I arrived at the hostel around 7pm. I'm in a room with 11 other people, which may turn out to be a problem because some of them are incredibly annoying. Especially two yanks (who I later found had left in the evening) and a group of three Dutch people (unfortunately still there at night). I decided I wa...
