... was best. Just me and about 2000 tourists.... Aaah, the serenity!

The sunset itself was not one of the best I've seen but as the sun set, the full moon rose over the rim of the caldera and looked spectacular. So it was really worth going to Oia.

A bus ride back and then we were in Fira. On the bus home, I got chatting to a British couple, Wendy & Roger, who were very interesting. They are Grey Nomads, travelling in a mobile home ...

Where we had dinner last night the waitress told us she has only been to Fira once in her life and it is very busy!! It is only a 15-20 min car ride! Where she lives is remote, a few houses dotted here and there and grapes growing. They don't grow grapes like we do on vines, they are ...

... views back along the caldera towards Fira - imagine spending your working day with that view! There were the usual souvenir shops, containing  similar articles to Fira, but this time with Oia scrawled onto them and many other shops that we enjoyed poking about in.  There were the usual dogs lying prostrate  in the shade, often lying right up beside the walls of the shops, and in one case, a lovely shop dog called Bijou which means jewel. So too there were cats, ...
