Cold Melbourne but good for christmas shopping
Melbourne is altijd geweldig!

Numerous naps
After finally managing to find a position in which I could slip into a decent sleep, the ship's lights and tannoy came on at some obscure our in the morning, 'kindly' informing us that we would soon be arriving in Melbourne and that we should be ready to depart the vessel. After having to shake Jake & Virva awake, we trudged down into the early …
Finally in Australia!
Well we spent our last 3 beach days at Lalomanu and enjoyed every second. Lots of nice people, delicious food, and perfect weather. We went back to Apia the day before our flight and had to catch the airport shuttle at 4am for our 7am flight. Got on the plane and arrived in Auckland 29 hours later after a 5 hour trip. We missed St. Patty's Day! Got …
I made it to Melbourne
Hey everyone! Well I made it down to Melbourne after a slightly chilly coach journey down, overnight, from Canberra. Managed to doze a bit but the temperature really does drop of an evening out here!!
I arrived in Melbourne at 7:30am and after a breakfast at the Southern Cross station where we were dropped off I decided to walk to my …
Last few days in Melbourne
I spent the next few days wandering around Melbourne and just taking it easy. I head up to Victoria Market for a wander around. Its really big with just about everything you would want and then head over to Carlton Park and relax in the sun for a while, the only downside being that I got bitten by something! Then I had a look at the Exhibition …

The "Backpackers bar" downstairs charged $10 for a pint, hardly backpacker prices. We paid in advance for our 5 nights, then when they lowered the prices of the rooms they refused to refund us the difference, as if they didn't know the prices would change when we paid! Out of the 5 nights, we had 2 nights' sleep, we were on floor 7, yet the music from the bar on floor 1 sounded like it was in the next room, and it went on until 5am! Half of the facilities like cookers and washing machines didn't work, in fact we had to spend about $20 just to dry our washing because the dryers were crap! Overall - absolutely rubbish, stay somewhere else for your own sake.
