Basic facilities, but the staff are really nice. Standard fare of ham & cheese, bread & cereal for breakfast but no toaster... Shops jest outside the hostel and they give you free access to a microwave.

You've got to like a town that has museums dedicated to fries, beer and chocolate! 15 of us (10 kids and five parents) walked into town intending to do the chocolate museum only, but the combo ticket with the fries museum was only 2 euro more than a single, so we did chocolate first, then fries (chocolate 7/10... they included samples ☺, …

Continental breakfast in the hostel, departed for a walking to the city centre at 9.30am.

Brugge is a walking and cycling city, with many narrow cobbled streets, made more impressive by the canals. We wandered into the main market square via lots of chocolate shops (there are 500 in the city!). We saw a canal cruise on offer, which has …

... decided to see the city in yet another way: by canal. Brugge, like many other European cities, is full of cute little canals. Seeing it from the water view gave me a whole new perspective on the city, though it was still just as magical, if not more. After our canal tour, we walked for a little more, grabbed some lunch and a few more chocolates before heading back to the car for a short drive to Brussels. In Brussels we stayed with ...

... are four windmills. They are different to the ones in the Netherlands, as these were smaller and no-one is living in them. Found the museum of chocolate. Was all about the history of chocolate. Cocoa beans were once used as a currency and chocolate is good- so eat up!! We then went to Holy Blood Chapel. In there on an altar is a lady with a vile of Christ's blood, for a price you can kiss the vile. I just watched from the ...
