When I'm Sick. I Stop being sick and be awesome

When I'm Sick. I Stop being sick and be awesome instead... True Story. Proven in Munich at Oktoberfest.

My first night
My sickness continued on my first night in Munich. I got there in the afternoon and walked to the Oktoberfest beer tent area. I didn't realise that all the big beer tents would be compleltey full by the night time. People reserve their tables in advance. I tried to make myself walk in and have a beer but I was shivering with fever and so dizzy I could not stand....

Hofbrauhaus!

After two full days in Salzburg, we got up early and took the ICE train to Munich. Checkout was very informal; Erin woke up the resident manager/cook/etc. and turned in our key for the 20e refund. The sun was coming up on what turned out to be a very nice day. We took a final look over the city and a few more pictures of it and the hostel. We decided to ride the elevator down and then walk across the river to catch the bus to the hauptbahnhof (train station). It was only a ten minute trip and...

A Beautiful day

This morning we rode the sbahn out to Dachau and toured the former concentration camp. As Erin said, it was very sobering. After last night, I only had a 5e bottle of orange juice and Erin bought a pastry at the station for breakfast. It was excellent, fresh oj, but we decided to do breakfast at the hostel from now on. When writing Tuesdays blog, I forgot we had stopped for a huge slice of pizza after Hofbrauhaus (HB) yesterday. We had passed it several times since it's on the corner of stree...

Neuschwanstein, in the rain.

Today we joined Australian guy for breakfast early this morning and then caught the train down to Fussen. I had sliced lunchmeat and cheese on bread, pickle slices, fruit cocktail, a banana, and orange juice in the hostel's bar and watched CNN on their flatscreen. It was an unusual breakfast, but only 3.90, so we filled up.

I know now why there are so many Germans in Ohio. The country side along the route to Fussen, and later on other trips, looks just like our rural areas, with field ...

Deustchland Ho

hello everyone, well finally we are in the wonderful land of germany. last night at ten fifty pm we said good bye to our friends that we had meet in venice, including dustin who decided to get a ferry back to greece due that lack of flights from munich to athens. we then got on the train and a 8 hour ride, through the night to Munich ensued. it was a restless night with little or no sleep at all. it was expensive to like 60 freaking euros for the trip. oh well thats what you get i guess. anyw...

Munchen - The Best Beer

Took the train from Prague to Munich (Munchen). The city is cool, it has a lot of history. It was not at the top of my list, though. But then I had the best beer I have ever had . . . . . . and my opinion changed.

Heed the call of the Hofbrauhaus

Alright, it's Sunday now; so let's roll back the clock a bit and tell the stories of my last few days in Prague. There's nothing to tell about today yet, the train was a farce with all kinds of tomfoolery. I was meant to get into Munich at 3; it was 4:30 before we even saw the outskirts of the city... Ahhh well. So Friday I took the walking tour, as intended. It was a little different than the Berlin walking tours I did, the guide was a lot more informal, less business-like than the Berlin gu...

We arrived!

We arrived in Germany. The flight was good and we found our hostel very easily. We were only going to be there one night so we made sure to eat at the HB House. We of course had to get the giant steins filled with beer. The hostel had a bar attached to it, Jimmy made some friends with the individuals from Berlin, Brazil and Spain. They were all very nice and we had a great time.

SCHLOSSES AND BEER GARDENS, MUNICH GERMANY

May 9, Saturday Today will be a different day from yesterday. No more car looking here, it will be Castle looking. We take the tram to the other end of town to see Schloss Nymphenburg. This was the summer home for King Ludwig II. It is a pleasant ride on the #17 tram as it is a very warm sunny day. The palace is a little walk back off the main drag by a river, it is quite pleasant. The gardens are quite beautiful around the palace, we stop to smell the hedge of lilacs. Oh, how aromatic. We bu...

Bavaria home to Beer

We woke up today with the intension of making our way to Munchen (Munich), after showering, packing and eating our way through a leisurely breakfast we went to the train station to see what our options where. Well after Shona had to drag Dino away from a couple of conversations with other travelers. There was two options available the first was at 11.07 or the second was 16.24 arriving at 22.45. The current time was 10.30. After the Interlaken experience we chose the 11.07. So obviously we on...
