We actually stayed just down the road from nomads in Flying Monkeys it's a sister company. Couldn't fault it to be honest. Just what you ask for, basic but clean. Breakfast and Dinner was included which was great and also the air con was left on all day which was lovely. We are coming to discover it's a rarity out here some places only let you have the air con on at night.

      Cairns en Cape Tribulation

Little change of plans...

... the 3rd time it's happened! On Monday we went Scuba Diving on the Great Barrier Reef. Well, we were supposed to but we all slept through our alarms and missed the boat! Luckily they rescheduled it for Wednesday for us. The Reef is amazing- the colours of the coral, the formations and most notably the marine life are all spectacular! We even saw a shark and a HUGE barracuda. Unfortunately ...

      Diving The Great Barrier Reef

A travel blog entry by gracetravelblog

A few butterflies this morning at thought of diving for the first time but massive excitement at getting to visit the Great Barrier Reef.

We were picked up from the hostel and driven down to the harbor to join our boat. The boat was called Tusa or T6 for short (pic). As soon as we stepped aboard the crew were there to greet us.
Luckily we'd heard from other travelers that week that the sea crossing from Cairns to the reef had been really rough due ...

... The dive only lasted 15 minutes but it was absolutely incredible and I loved it so much I paid extra to do it again. The second time was even better because we didn't have to be linked arms with the instructor and we saw a giant clam and picked up sea cucumbers and some other cool stuff. I haven't manage to get the photos from the underwater camera on here but I will try at some ...
