... higher, until we finally were at the ski center. We were the first ones there; nice and quiet. It was cold up there; the air was crystal clear. We did the bathroom break thing and then it was time to take the ski lifts up. At that point we saw the HAL buses starting to pull in. Whew! We made it before them.
The ski lift ride up the volcano was quiet. Just the sun, the volcano, and us. No other sounds. No birds. Nothing. Marvelous.

... it is more like 6 hours so we rejected the idea of more bus travel and stayed put in Puerto Varas. Actually we are quite glad of the error, as P.V. proved to be one of our favourite places and we hear it is much less touristy than Pucon.
We fell in love with the relaxed, chilled out nature of the town and could easily have stayed an extra couple of days here. The hostel we stayed at was amazing and all the buildings here are ...
