      Eco hostel

The people here were nice & friendly. I couldn't argue with how they accommodated me. Especially, when I arrive on the first night at 3am, with no booking. Burton, the manager from New Zealand woke up and let me in. After 2 weeks in vegas, this quiet hostel was a nice break for a few days. We had a BBQ one night, that cost $10 for a massive amount of meat. It took a while to cook everything, as there were approximately 30 intrepid travelers, finishing or starting their trips. The food was great, but people were impatient at the time it took to cook for everyone. Some even kicked up a stink and asked for their money back. I refused to take any kind of refund. $10 for unlimited red wine and awesome steaks, pork ribs and chorizo, can happily be my dinner, any time. I did miss out on the pork ribs, as I headed out for drinks, and they weren't served till after midnight :)
Overall, the hostel just wasn't really for me. The Eco part of it was a little dirty. They didn't like people flushing their toilet paper, which I think I gross. Putting shitty paper in a bin next to you, to sit and stink out the joint. I was worried that this would be ongoing in sth America, but it turned out that it was a one off.

Well this place cound´t have been more dfferent/better than our first attempt at accommodation! Not only was it warm, but in the evenings they brought out heaters just to make sure! And it was clean cosy and comfortable, along with probably the finest kitchen we´ve seen in our trip. They had a proper wine opener, proper wine glasses and a selection of kitchen knives. Those three things are almost impossible to find in hostels on this continent. Actually, they are impossible to find, except here. Thumbs up from us anyway. Oh, and check out is 12am, what more could you ask for..

A really friendly hostel. with huge rooms and lots of common areas the place is great. A fantastic breakfast and good cooking facilities help with cheaper days. Activities can be booked with the hostel and events at the hostel help make this a sociable place. Its certainly not a loud party hostel but wouldn;t want to be. We had a great stay.

Eco hostel was a good stay, it was in a good position centrally located with Plaza Italia not far away and a supermarket near by. Free internet and a good kitchen with clean bathrooms and toilets, the price was very good so i chose to stay here. It was safe and quiet with a BBQ night. It's environmentally friendly and the staff spoke english always more than happy to guide you through the ropes.

      Chile- Santiago

So, I survived 16 days in Vegas, packed my bags and raced to the airport for my first solo route of the trip. My flight to Panama City left at 7am. Checking in my bags at Vegas, felt like I was already in Chile. They spoke mostly Spanish, and relaying to them, my plans, was not easy. I had not booked accommodation in Santiago, so came up with a …

Its a long way from Perth to Santiago, especially when you have to stop at both Sydney and Auckland. Im not sure exactly how long it took because I lost track somewhere over the Pacific but Im pretty confident that it was over 20hrs. But so far completely worth it. Santiago is a pretty awesome city, and the summer here is much like at home, hot, …

Damn it's hot. Which is wonderful.

Santiago is a great place with an interesting vibe. Something like a suburban mind set traped in the body of a city. Really beautiful though. I have just been touring around seeing all that there is to see. I am running out of things to do in the city and I have two more nights here. Might skip town ea...
