We arrived in Ljubljana after the most picturesque train journey we have ever experienced. For those of you who are ever presented the opportunity I strongly recommend the train trip from Vienna to Ljubljana. The journey is quite long (a bit over 6 hours) but it's extremely smooth and the scenery is breath taking. That advice pretty much stands for anywhere around the Austria / Germany part of Europe. ... before but I got to say it again, it was beautiful. We found a rock ledge near the base of the castle that had the best views you could get. Again, you'll have to check out my pictures!

Our last stop was in Maribor. There's not much to say, just your typical old town with some new and some old. Well I got to get going, the Hungarian Craft Beer Festival is patiently waiting for me!

... Castle on Castle Hill and dates from Medievil times. It has lovely views of the city form a 360 degrees. Michael went up the tower that is also part of the castle and wall. I stayed below as 5 euro each seemed steep for a view. He took pics anyway!!! On site there is also St. Georges Chapel, which is no longer a working chapel but has remains of icons and paintings on the walls and ceilings.

... visit in the castle was to the Watchtower which has a 3D virtual museum showing a 20 odd minute film of Ljubljana and it's history. Evidently the film wasn't overly interesting as after nearly nodding off myself I was brought to my senses by Kirk loudly dropping his headset on the floor after he dozed off!
