Love it here in Passau. Our last stop in Germany. Our guide who was French told us that Hitler fell in the river here as a young child and someone saved him. Pity. The old town is beautiful. They have a problem with flooding as they are on a peninsula with 3 rivers. The Danube, the Inn and the Iltz. A lot of the buildings have had to have all the plaster removed and replaced to second floor ...

En route to Regensburg yesterday via the Main-Danube Canal, we passed some interesting riverside hamlets (see pics) before mooring at Regensburg around midday. Our guided tour of the Old City Centre gave us more medieval buildings and some interesting snippets of information about the place. The stone, ...

Of course we were up at the crack of dawn, getting ready for our first big cycle day. It's pretty daunting for me with the distance. I don't do very much cycling (or anything else for that matter). Cheryl does her exercise bike every day and has done for 15 years so she's a lot fitter and stronger than me. She'll be fine. Anyway, we had breakfast and packed our lunch for the day. It's very well ...
