Czech me out

So I arrived back in Prague after being in America for only 4 days. My interview for P.A. school went great and I was accept into Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. I was quite jet lagged as I had such a quick turn around and my body didn´t know what time or day it was anymore. So I went to check in at the hostel and meet up with the girls but to my surprise I no longer had my wallet with me when I went to pay for the hostel and the girls were already out and about on the town. So I ...

...On getting lost

I had the directions to get to the hostel. Only my internal compass was a little screwed up. Screw the train, I'm walking to the hostel. More fun that way, plus I get to see the city. According to my map (or more correctly, my memory of the map that I saw earlier) I exit the train station to the east, turn right and head south until I see the street I'm looking for. No problem. But it was noon, the sun was right overhead, so I couldn't tell exactly what direction I was going. It turns out the...

Days 34-37

Prague

Prague is a beautiful city, wow. I think it is very nice city, does not feel that big, has a small town feel, believe it or not. I spent the first 2 days wandering the streets of Old Town, Jewish Quarter, New Town, walking across the Charles Bridge, and basically just trying to get lost :) I have discovered that is the best way to learn a new city. I feel like I have a really good concept of the city. I understand the Metro, the Trams, and almost as easy is just walking. Prague is not a diffi...

Adventures in bohemia

Prague pretty much fulfils all the cliches. Its packed with gangs of British blokes on stag do's, loads of beautiful old buildings on either side of the Spree river that managed to completely escape the ravages of world war II, and muchas really good quality cheap Czech beers and stinky sausage. Arriving at at 7am and not being allowed to check in to our hostel the "Czech Inn" until 3pm (!) we trammed it into the town centre while it was still deserted and exhaustedly loped across the impress...

Prague

Paris was wonderful and too short to see everything. Interent cafes were few and far between so our Paris adventures will be saved for when we return. We arrived in Prague yesterday to beautiful weather! Our hostel is a hostel and hotel so it has the benefits of both and has an AMAZING breakfast!! Today we visited the Franz Kafka museam and got a good idea of Prague for a German Jew during the turn of the century. We then wandered a lot and ended up walking over the Charles Bridge and into th...
