Discovery Center
Last night was a much better night! We played cards and talked until around 11 and then we went to our rooms to get some much needed sleep. I fell asleep nearly immediately and easily slept through the night. I only woke once and fell back to sleep right away. So that was fabulous!
This morning, we went to the Discovery Center and it was …
Hiking in the Rain Forest
Last night was scary! We went to bed around 10:30 and after awhile we fell asleep. Around 12 we could hear the girls next door screaming. It turns out that they had mice in their room and they were crawling up the girls legs and bed posts! It was gross!
After that, Jocelyn and I sat up for about 2 hours, trying to keep our minds off the …
Croc Spotting
Today we left Port Douglas. Our bus was supposed to come at 10, but there was a mix up and they didn't come until 10:30. We had to stop in Mossman to pick up Viki and Cathy because Cathy had to go to the doctor because she had food poisoning. We arrived at Crocodylus around 12:30 and then we went Croc Spotting. We found 4 crocs which is apparently …
Crocodiles,Cassawories,& 135m year old Rainforest!
After picking up our hire car, a trusty little Toyota Yaris, we picked up our bags from our hostel then headed on for our road trip north to Cape Tribulation and Daintree Forest. The drive was absolutely stunning along the highway, through vast green fields and along beautiful coastline, and definitely made us want a car even more to take down the …

TravelPod Member ReviewsCrocodylus Village Cow Bay
The staff helped by picking me up on the southside of the river when I was stuck there. My car wouldn't have made it through the flood waters, so they drove down and picked me up. The place is right in the middle of the rainforest which is very cool looking. The fan was really rusted and made a horrible noise through the night, but it was too hot to turn it off. Cool place to stay, but maybe not for more than a couple nights. Food at the restaurant is awesome!
