Here we are in Prague. This city is simply gorgeous. It really does look like Aurora or Belle should pop around the corner and burst into song. Here's a rundown of our past two days...

yesterday we left Berlin and stopped in the town of Dresden for lunch. Dresden was completely levelled in the Second World War and the city has done a major rebuilding of its old historic buildings. Very very pretty.

... the Bata Shoe Store. Six stories of wall to wall shoes and handbags. I thought that I would never see her again!!!! When the shoppers finished, went wandered up to the river and hopped on a small river cruise boat and spent 50 minutes enjoying the sun and refreshments whilst cruising past the beautiful riparian sights of Prague - and the Kozel dark beer was very refreshing! Had a nice dinner in the Old Town and back to the hotel to recharge our ...

... br> The hotel is fantastic.The building was established in 1372 on a steep hill overlooking the city- and a stones throw from the Castle. There are only eight rooms and we have a wonderful view of Petrin Hill. The room is a generous size and has a lovely bathroom. To open the windows and look out on open ground, vineyards, old buildings and the red roofs of Prague in the distance is heaven! We even hear the chime of church bells. Bliss.

... of the city, we set about visiting the buildings where the Hasburg Empire was controlled. We finished up the day with the local tradition of coffee and cake – went down a treat. Overall Vienna was nice, but it didn’t wow us – perhaps we’re a bit fatigued of western European cities – it just didn’t seem to excite us as the other places did in the East.
