    ... Falls. We got to the trail, but chose not to do the hike. Again today, the storms were moving in. I didn't want to get caught up on a dirt road that was getting washed out. So we headed back down the mountain and back to Gunnison. The timing was almost perfect. We just got down to the paved road before the heavy rains came.

    Tomorrow - Lake City, CO.

    ... chores done. Sheila and I even got haircuts. It was a good day to get a movie and relax in the coach. We watched the movie "Wild". It was interesting - reminded me of the folks at SEEC who did the Appalachian trail.

    Tomorrow, we head up the mountain in Crested Butte.

    ... too soon and is sorely missed.

    After walking through the sanctuary, Sheila and I headed back downtown to look at the shops - we didn't buy anything - all the stores were pretty high classed. Before leaving Aspen, we drove to the Ashcroft Ghost Town. In its heyday, this town was bigger than Aspen. Now it is a series of log cabin buildings. You can only imagine what life was in the town.

    ... was under control and that I had made reservations at Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch in Gunnison, CO. Her follow up question was another lesson learned. She told me that according to THE PLAN, we had reservations on June 7 at the Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch, But guess what Chuck, today is June 6! She had a point. Apparently, my date keeping needs some work. So I called the ranch and with a little paperwork, we had reservations for tonight as well.

    ... more cyclist to come. The workers were annoyed and didn't joke back. This cyclist was solo and doing a couple hundred miles to Colorado Springs. He had a strikingly similar smile to my ex, Jesse. He was trying to make up time, so didn't ride with us. Black Canyon of the Gunnison has been my most anticipated destination so far. It's like a dream. So beautiful. I started feeling stronger, yet sore in new places. It was hot, so we took a dip in the Gunnison River ...
