Travel Blogs from Tavewa Island
After a not so great start, once Alex's bag has returned on Sunday evening, we could both start enjoying the traditional Fiji entertainment put on at the hotel. The fire dancing part of the show was much more impressive than the fire show we had seen in Thailand, mostly because they didn't keep accidentally throwing the fire into the audience. …
So here I am back on the islands again. After a couple of days back in Nadi picking up supplies (Bounty rum and lots of water), we hopped on the Yasawa Flyer, a massive catamaran that belts along at about 22knots (that's pretty fast for all you non-nautical land lubber types) for a 5 hour journey to the top of the Yasawa Island chain. After …

How has this hostel rated in the past?
This place is waaaaay up north in the island chain but again, the staff are lovely and greet you with a handshake as you walk up the beach from your boat landing. Make sure you take the snorkelling trip to Blue Lagoon Beach, and take a walk up to the top of the mountain on the island to watch the sun set. Epic doesn't even come close. A fifteen minute walk around the coast to the southern beach on the island takes you to another resort beach which is less windy and has much smoother water. I chilled out here for a good few hours before the tide came in and I had to bounce before I got cut off
