Yasawa Islands, Fiji, (679)-6662648

Hello Since the last entry we've been quite busy. We went to Beachcomber Island for the day. Its meant to be party island, but it was full of people from cruise ships!!!! The snorkelling was good, we saw loads of different fish and coral reefs. In the afternoon we went out on a boat to feed the fish with the leftovers from lunch, they came really close to the boats and there were loads of swordfish. For the past week we've been island hopping around the Yasawa Islands, which are north of the ...
Nadi, Fiji anneandsandraDay 281 - 30/11/08 Nadi to Tavewa, Yasawa Islands (Coral View Resort) A three and half boat journey this morning to the first destination on my island hopping itinerary, Tavewa in the Yasawas group. On the way to Tavewa the boat cut through the Mamanucas chain passing tiny little sandy paradises. Some of the islands are only a couple of hundred metres long with a few rustic huts and a couple of dozen coconut palms for shade. Certainly some of the most picture perfect tropical islands I've see...
Yasawa Islands, Fiji christospWe went on a trip to the underwater caves. Hattie went as far as the first cave, whereas I went underwater for about 7ft to the underwater cave. Once inside, there we hollows where we swam and were told the story that traditional Fijians believe that there God lives in this cave and it was only opened up to foreign vistors less than 40 years ago. When we got back to the resort, we had Fijian (or Bulah) night, which meant a lot of silly dancing. We were told that is was a dressing-up night so ...
nacula island, Fiji danandhatBula!! I can't believe how fast eight days went by!! In just a few short hours I'll be leaving Nadi and flying off to New Zealand!! I had an absolutely wonderful week in Fiji!! After experiencing Nadi last weekend, I decided I wanted to get out to the islands and spend most of my time there. I talked to a travel agent at my hostel and got it all booked up. I left Nadi on Sunday morning bright and early and caught the Fiji Awesome Adventures ferry out to the islands. I was starting out at the ...
Nadi, Fiji kafweenFiji, what can be say that hasn't already been said? Beautiful tropical islands, clear blue lagoons and incredibly warm and friendly people, well for once I agree... Having done very little homework (and by that I mean none) I decided to visit STA Travel a couple of days prior to flying and booked a 7day / 6 night trip through the Yasawa islands with Fiji Awesome Adventures, a package aimed at the young and young at heart. I opted for the Ultimate Lei package and even got a welcome package in...
Nadi, Fiji paulontheroadWe were glad to make like trees and get the hell outta nadi a.s.a.p, so we were early to pack up our stuff and mouw down a quick breakfast before jumping on a bus to denaru port leaving for the yasawa islands. the bus did a major unnessacary detour and made us late for the sailing, so we were in a mad rush to check in a run down the dock with all our bags in a mad dash to jump on the boat just as it was pulling away. tensions were high and stress was definetly a factor when i told one of the ...

... up!!! and makes your tounge feel weird...) that night it started to rain. then it started to pour. then it was raining cats and dogs all night, and all the next day, and all the day after that. apperently its the raininy season in fiji, unknown to sean and i when we booked. the next day consisted of reading in our room (which reeked of alcohol, wet feet, and kava by this point), playing cards and sleeping. needless ...
Yasawa Island, Yasawa Islands, Fiji tsquared... John got chicken kabobs with rice. We had garlic bread and raspberry cheese cake too. Oh and some glasses of red wine. YUM! Once full we kicked back and knocked out for about 6 hours. They woke us to eat breakfast; omelets, sausage, bacon, veggies, toast, cereal and yogurt. While we were eating breakfast the plane flew into the sunrise. We were about 30,000 feet up and all you could see was pink sky and fluffy clouds. I took some photos but we ...
Turtle Island, Fiji 2knightsabroad... thing about this island is that you were interacting with some such a wide variety of people, but all of them would come together and leave personal agendas and egos behind and find common ground with other people at Turtle Island. They would become the coolest people to hang out with because they were uninhibited and could be themselves. That was what truly made this place special and a place that I really believe is like nowhere else in the world. We would even see the newbies come onto ...
Turtle Island, Fiji ramrtw... Fijian specialities. Before we ate we held hands and said grace, and it was a very nice meal lit by oil lamps under the stars and with some guys from the village playing the guitar and sining Fijian songs in the background. There was even pudding (pineapple and custard) and the staff treated us all like royalty. After dinner we had a 'meke' (traditional dancing telling stories), whereby the same crew sang Fijian songs and a couple of the men performed the traditional ...
