6.45am set off to the nearby Monkey Mia resort. Paddled with the dolphins and watched them being fed. I was surprised to learn of the dolphins mating habits and have decided I no longer like male dolphins! Spent a couple of hours on the beach with my book and nursing my hangover. We drove to Eagle Bluff but had no luck spotting sharks in Shark Bay. The Stromalolites are well presented with a boardwalk for viewing.
Lunch was a Hamelin Pool. We stopped briefly at Carnavon and saw the satelli...
... beautiful and the Ningaloo Reef is literally about 10 metres from the shore, the
reason for our visit here.
On our second day here we went on a 2 hour boat trip, it had a glass bottom saw quite alot of fish and coral. We then had a
chance to get off and do a 30 minutes snorkel. It was good but it was quite choppy and we had swim against the current which
was quite difficult as I am a ...
Einfach paradisisch.
... second park which is directly opposite the beach.
The next day (Thursday) We entered the water which was coolish to go snorkelling in. We hired some flippers and emmy hired some goggles and snorkel as we all were going in. Emily had a ball seeing all the fish and pointing them out for her age i thought she did well breathing through the snorkel. We have been hoping to see a turtle under the water but no such luck so far.
The coral is dying and even though ...
Coral bay kind of speaks for itself. White sand beaches beautiful clear water and weather was great. Rented snorkeling gear and into the water which was a little cool but fine. Straight away there was quite a lot to see. The following day I went out on a kayak trip further out to sea and do more snorkeling. You see a lot more further out, huge snapper, turtles, eagle rays and some small sharks. Turned out to be a really good trip.
Coral Bay, Western Australia, Australia marcmsm... Once again, the waters are crystal clear turquoise and the marine life is abundant straight off the beach. The coral is less colourful than at Turquoise Bay (it's limestone based?) but still it is overwhelming to swim amongst such a stunning natural environment. There is fish-feeding here every day and once again the fish are nearly as big as the kids but they are unperturbed. The kids that is.

... a vegan, pay by donation dinner that she runs every Monday night at the FERN (Fremantle Environmental Resource Network). We arrived a bit early for dinner and started to help prepare. Luckily preparing was almost finished so I mostly swept up and helped a 6 year old kid eat fresh Mulberries from a tree in the yard. The dinner was excellent and the 40 or so people who showed up were rather interested and excited that Soupy was our first stop in Australia. Mimosa ...
Coral Bay, Western Australia, Australia maam... a nice coffee again in Exmouth, as well as pick up some groceries. From there, we just drove straight to Coral Bay.
Coral Bay is extremely small compared to the other coastal towns round here. It has two caravan parks, a supermarket and a couple of other shops. We managed to get the last powered site at one of the caravan parks (not sure of the status of the ...
Coral Bay, Western Australia, Australia nanoucoco... in our caravan, plus the bakery was way TOO good - too many visits there!
Exmouth was interesting! We stayed out at Yardie Creek Caravan Park initially but had to move because we ran out of water as there was only limited drinking water and we had gone over 2 weeks without a fresh water shower! It was a great place for adults but not a family place, no playground, couldn't plug in our toaster, kettle ...
