Kozi 7- Old Town, Prague 1 Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic, 42-224-936-200
Today is our second day in Prague in the Czech Republic. It's one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen! It's a bright and colorful place with breathtaking vistas and stunning architechure. The city center is composed of narrow winding streets and homes that shoot up six floors on each side making every corner picturesque. We toured the city's Gothic cathedral and walked around admiring the city for hours. The Czech Republic is also home to one of my favorite artists, Alfons Mucha, an...

... Hradcany castle steps is no different. We huffed and puffed our way to the top, and then I lost Nat to her trusty camera for a few minutes (thanks P&K).

The castle was built in the 9th century and has been a seat of power ever since. Ancient Kingdoms, the Holy Roman Empire, and the former Czechoslovakia were ruled from this place, and the Czech government still has its offices here ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic natandjames... of old time beer making equipment, and beer bottling equipment and capping. We also got a small coin which was used in payment in olden times. Workers with this coin were entitled to a beer. We turned in our coins to get a nice beer. As we were running behind, our guide asked if it was ok for us to eat here as well. We each got a nice bread bowl full of goulash soup and then a plate of bread ...
Plzen, Bohemia, Czech Republic carpefeline... put before him...

The tour starts with the production line - the cleaning of recycled glasses, the airation & subsequent dispensing of beer into glasses and laser scanning of the bottles for imperfections, this was pretty much how it worked for the cans aswell (minus the recycling step).

If I could bore you with all the ...

One exhibit featured children's artwork that had been preserved from the Terezin camp that was an intermediary camp outside of Prague. Most everyone who was placed there was eventually relocated to an extermination camp during 1942 or 1943. It was hard to witness the ways the children processed what was happening to them and around them. Later, we learned ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic tfsnewsToday we went to the Pilsner Urquell brewery in Plzen. Pilsner, the type of beer, originated here, where Pilsner Urquell was brewed from local crops and local mineral water. The tour was awesome. We saw the traditional brew kettles and the modern ones, as well as a very modern new packaging plant. We also tasted some unpastuerized beer directly from fermenting barrels.
Plzen, Bohemia, Czech Republic chrisny2... markets below. Before long, it was night time again, and my friend and I headed to a "traditional Czech restuarant" for our Christmas dinner...it was incredible. We indulged and indulged...a bit too much...but it was worth it!! We had bought a CZK1000.00 (approximately EUR40.00) package which allowed us to have all-you-can-drink beer, wine and soft drinks, and all-you-can-eat off their menu. So, we went nuts!! We wanted to try everything!! We had a shot of ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic natsully... low 70s, and it drizzled off and on for 2 of our days. It would never drizzle for more than an hour or so, so it wasn't bad. Luckily, I had my paschmina to keep me warm and my umbrella to keep me dry! We arrived on a Monday, after a 2 1/2 hour flight from Istanbul. Our flight seemed like an eternity...I sat next to "Bahranian Man", who was about 300 lbs., sweaty, and DRUNK. He had finished off 3/4 of a bottle of Jameson prior to the flight and polished off the ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic joann.hill12Arrived in Karlstejn on the "City Elephant" train at 1.20pm and walked 2km to the Karlstejn Castle. Went on the 2.30pm English tour of the castle which took about an hour. No photography allowed inside the castle. Took in the views over the town before walking back to the train station and catching the train back to Prague.
Karlstejn, Bohemia, Czech Republic tyga... crazy is the Ossuary in Sedlec (15min walk from Kutna Hora). Inside this tall and crooked old church lie the bones of 40,000 people! But wait, it gets crazier!!! They are all on display in the form of church-decore including chandeliers, pillars, crucifixes and 4 HUGE pyramids of stacked bones and skulls!!! Real skulls! Very weird! A few days later, we were in Brno. It is 200 Km southeast of Prague. Here, we visited Dan and Michael, a ...
