... had walked for miles and couldn't find a exit off the beach. The beach is public right the way around the cancun area, but the resorts are private property and you can't walk through them unless you are staying there, all the resorts are so close together there is no way out except for the public entry and exit points which are pretty few and far between. Today was all about relaxing and catching up on sleep. A day of pure laziness and relaxation.
I did manage to take a walk early enough in the morning to discover that the winds were still high and the red flags were up which means that it is too dangerous to swim in the ocean with the undertow.

... postcard beach (on the Caribbean side of Cancun), with white sands and clear sea, although the water was a little rough. It gave us some time to catch up on a bit of reading and top up the tan.
We sampled lots of Mexican food, plus free tequila! There are lots of bands playing in the restaurants, very noisy but fun!
