... and described all of her hopes and dreams for the future. Her last entry was made on the 1st August 1944. She died in March 1945 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp from typhus. Only a matter of weeks later, the British liberated the camp. You can visit the house where she and her family hid and see for yourself where she sat and wrote her diary. ... a re-creation of a Brazilian barrio made of recycled materials. (World Cup fever has taken over Europe.) They also had a surprisingly good time at the Van Gogh Museum. One of Elias’ favorite paintings is Starry Night. Even though it wasn’t there, Van Gogh held enough interest to last at least an hour of whine-free viewing.

... but feels a bit artsy to walk around looking at different paintings and techniques of painting. Interesting technique that Van Gogh uses with the perspective frame to paint a more realistic picture. Am absolutely in love with the Rijksmuseum library, how I wish I can wonder around in there to browse the books. But oh well, maybe should see how I can setup something similar at home in the future ...

... there for dessert. Good timing as well, broke up the home trek of 20-odd minutes into 2 easier slots of 10. Washing has been put on given the lack of facilities for the last week, and we hope for an easier evening in the sleep and breathing departments than last night!!!
