Travel Blogs by Travelers Who Stayed at the Clown and Bard Prague

June 23rd - 26th: Prague (Praha) :P

Greetings from Prague! We arrived yesterday after another long train journey (although the views along the way of southern germany we're very nice!) So far I've seen none of the sites what so ever except the inside of a tesco and some of the local beer selling places... I'm sure we'll get round to seeing the sites once everyones recouperated a bit from last nights fun (everyone else is in bed while I'm on the internet) Once again I can't upload any photos because this PC is a free internet PC...

Praha

Hello people we are in Praha, it is super crazy here, I am now convinced that there is no off season for travelling, there is mobs of people everzwhere here. The city is like walking around a fantasy land and harrz potter all inb one, the castles here are reallz unique looking , and the historz is sick. There is a clock tower here built by this guz Master Hanus which means disgusting in czech, that the town liked it so much that they fesasred he would build another superior clock so they ripp...

Castles and Clubs

In a dramatic departure from our usual programming, today's blog entry will be written in reverse chronological order. So we'll start with last night, and finish with Tuesday afternoon, comprehende? So last night Marko and I (of Barcelona and Berlin fame - yeah we met up again) headed to a club in the north of the city called the Cross Club. Now this place is probably the hands down coolest club I've ever been too. It wasn't the biggest, and the music wasn't fantastic, nor were the drinks the...

Beautiful Prague

I am in Prague, Czech Republic right now - Day 2. It's my second time here. I was here 10 years ago when I did my first backpacking trip right after graduating from University. It is still a beautiful city. Probably one of the nicest in all of Europe. The train ride from Berlin was fantastic. I had to remind myself to take my nose out of my book every once in a while and look outside the train window. It was really nice. When I got off the train, there were locals offering their places for ba...

Prague

hello to anyone who is reading this. we arrived in Prague to our hostel with no problems apart from understanding Czech public transport. after trying to make out Czech words on the travel board and trying to get some money we finally got to our hostel via the combined methods of bus and metro. our hostel, clown and bard hostel, is really good. we have a downstairs bar, good facilities and a great atmosphere. on our first night we descended to the basement bar during happy hour and drank away...

Prague

last couple of days in prague were quite good. after sightseeing we went clubbing in the centre of prague - near charles bridge. 5 floors with different music on each floor. even though we were just the two of us we still had a good time and were able to make our way back to the hostel in the dark by foot!!! on sat we went to the communist museum in the morning. it was quite interesting and something different from just normal sightseeing. luckily we were able to find some pubs showing some p...

Romance in the city of a hundred spires

Arrived at Prague, quite tired and went to our hostel- the Clown and Bard, very much a party hostel and naturally we proceeded to drink at about 5pm in the built in bar (the barmaid said Poveys train looked like it had been drawn by a five year old, whereas she said mine looked like it had been drawn by a 15 year old-haha! one-nil, ish), I got totally wankered and Povey had to carry me to bed (but only after I had beat a bloke at chess about three times while blind drunk). Woke up about 5.30 ...

Prague, meh?! Veinna Yeah!

This is just a quick entry for Prague (Praha) before getting on to Vienna. Prague is Beatiful, expect for the area around the Clown and Bard Hostel, which is run down as all hell and scares and depresses you at the same time. This is where I stayed! I had planned to spend a while here but pulled out early because I didnt like staying in such a ****** neighborhood and because the 'nice' part of Prague (the old town and castle areas) were just packed with tourists and really kind of expensive. ...

Czeck Out Prague

I'll finish the Santorini stuff before I get to Prague... The first full day we had there was quite eventful. We rented a 4-wheeler for 24 hours and went all around the island. First, the red sand beaches. Then we kinda got lost for a while, but made our way to the biggest city, Fira, for lunch, and proceeded to get ripped off. Of course we should come to expect this by now, and we kinda were expecting it. Andrea's OJ was 3.80 euro, a gyro was 9.80, the bread that we didnt eat was 2, so on an...

Prague- Art Nou-woah!

I try to make cheesy titles to these entries, and I think I've outdone myself on this one. I am taking advantage of the free internet that the hostel offers and writing another entry in Prague. Today we actually went on the 5 hour walking tour (it was a bargain) and saw all of the main attractions in the city. Went to new town, which is not really that new, and then old town, which is beautiful. There's a lot of art nouveau style architecture and it reminds me of a doll house. Too bad I can't...
