Wow!! I can't believe I'm finally here in England and the weather is bloody freezing!!

Ok, now lets rewind a bit. Well, how about a complete day and I'll start from the beginning!

So just my luck, I got sick two days before jetting off! I was taking cough medicine, cold and flu tablets, fever and sore throat tablets and nasal …

Day Two: Arrive in London

Wow! What a long day! I'm lying in my top bunk at Clink 78 Hostel (that I HATED at first) and trying to relax while I reflect on the day.

So after landing, Geoff and I searched for the tube station and eventually found it, making our way to central London. The ride was long and sort of boring. We had to stand the majority of the ride …

Okay, let's be honest. Y'all know I'm not actually in England right now. I'm back where I started in Regensburg, sitting at a kitchen table listening to The National while those that own this place are sleeping off a huge night in the next room. But for the purpose of good storytelling, now that I've been reunited with my laptop, I'm going to …

After 35 days and 18 countries, we had finally reached the final day of our Topdeck tour. It was a day I thought would never arrive. Don't get me wrong, the trip was an amazing experience, but I was looking forward to regaining some consistency in my life... the thought of sleeping in the same bed for five nights when we got to London sounded like …

Great bar and really friendly people. Good place to stay if travelling on your own and wanting to meet people! Beds are satisfactory but ensuites are poor, better to use communal showers/toilets (as whole ensuite floods after one shower). Good value for money. Would happily stay again.

During my time in London I stayed here. The people were lovely and very helpful at explaining all the attractions of London and how to get to them. Every morning breakfast was provided with a range of cereals and toast, coffee, tea, and juice to choose from. The rooms were okay but at times it was very loud, which is what you would expect in a hostel! The bathrooms weren't to great but were bearable, although at times they seemed to need a good clean.
Overall my stay here was very good and I would stay here again

Great facilities, lacking a little atmosphere

Clink has been a great base to explore London, for the price the comfortable clean dorms and common areas, location and free breakfast are fantastic. The only problem is that because it is so large (700+ beds) and caters to a lot of families and especially groups of highschool children, it doesn't provide the same opportunities to meet many people. Otherwise the staff are really friendly and helpful, the only issue with the facilities is that the wifi is expensive.

I was only there for 1 night and a total of 8 hours but it seemed like a pretty cool hostel, heaps of people milling about. Amenities were good and all bedding was supplied. I think it cost 28 quid which isn't the cheapest but if you have the money then this would be a good place to base yourself!

A great, cool, young minded hostel although the rooms were small and communal bathrooms without storage for clothes. For a hostel reccomend it!

Clink was a good value for my money. It was close to the Tube and bus routes to downtown and close to restaurants. It was clean and nicely decorated. Internet was 50p per 15 minutes. Large tv room. The breakfast was included in the price (toast, ceral, tea, coffee, hot chocolate).

Something a bit different, good price and friendly staff. 5-10 minute walk from Kings Cross Rail and Tube Stations. Plenty shops, little Cafe's Restaurants and Bars nearby. (Recommend the Italian at end of the road as they do take away Pizza's tho if there's a group of you try haggling for a discount to sit in, we did - 20%.
Has a bar in it and Internet Access. ( top up at the box on wall in reception)
Used it a couple times as seems to be pretty consistent and not to lively.
The Dorm beds with partitions are a nice feature..

Stayed in a double ensuite with my husband. Very small, but clean and comfortable. Standard hostel breakfast. Nice mixture of families and youth. Love that it used to be a courthouse...great original features to the building.

I loved this hostel! It's cheap by London standards, close to Kings Cross which has great transportation day and night. The hostel is very clean with loads of hangout areas, a bunch of computers and even a bar with drink specials and events planned every night. You could seriously never leave the hostel and have a great time. The bathrooms are clean, as are the dorm rooms and the breakfast is great, lots of variety as well as a large kitchen to cook your own food in after the breakfast crowd leaves. Security is pretty good, you need a key card to get into the dorm area. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting London.
