... being so cheap, and so well catered for the tourist as they are. It is impossible, for example, to do your own laundry there, as everywhere has services that take it off your hands, wash it, iron it, fold it neatly, and place it into bags for your collection. All for about 1 pound. Here, you must do your own laundry, at four times the cost! I confess (with my head in shame) - I have never used these laundry machines before, and the Canadian girl who I did my first batch ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia jamiemeasures... for free on their computers and finding out that Liverpool's season is actually getting worse and in order to watch the Wales vs NZ rugby match I've got to get up at 4am. After this we headed out down to the beach which was nice enough but not up to the same standard as some we have seen, yes we are now beach snobs so much so we didn't even get our feet sandy and just wandered along the esplanade. It was a ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia gaz-ljIt rained heavily overnight but was off when we rose to make our DIY breakfast. It seemed a shame to crack those smiley faced eggs.

After recovering from the initial surprise Jim fed them some crackers. We left in good time as we knew we had to return the van to Melbourne that afternoon. Thank goodness for Rosie as we she successfully guided us through downtown Melbourne back to the Calypso gaage. From there we took a taxi to St. Kilda, a seaside suburb of Melbourne.

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia reversemerger... for it to rain...
So long story short, I ended up spending Tuesday night in the howling wind, puddles of water pooling on the floor of my tent as the walls leaked, being periodically suffocated as the tent was blown horizontally and hoping that the new hole in the roof stayed relatively closed due to the hasty stitch job I put in it. Yes, I managed to find a new use for my surgery skills... sewing up a tent in gale force winds. Yay for surgeons knots... So I got hardly any sleep, then ...
... Slept 3 hours. Its 7 am. We need to clean the house. Wow wow, I have got the svarioni, an Italian term that cannot really be translated, but basically means that your body is not really coordinating well... Very hard come back to reality. After a breakfast much needed and a quick siesta for me and long for Nico, went back to the pool and visited Melbourne's Chinatown, hoping to see some Chinese ...
