Arrived in Aukland to lovely sunny weather - I knew I should have left my sandals in the suicase! Bethany didn't sleep much on the plane so neither did we so we were a little tired for a day or two! Been to lots of parks and seen the museum - very good and great value ($5). We have booked a hire car for Sunday so we are now looking forward to getting into the countryside! We will put some pictures on soon - need to get organised and go to a proper internet cafe rather than these coin op affai...

We drove back towards Auckland where we'd spend our final three nights. I'd read about a nice day hike on the way down; a part nature reserve, part farm, part surf beach called Tawharanui. We did a nice hike around the rolling coastal hills, Cassidy amused herself by chasing any livestock foolish enough to wander into our immediate vicinity, and we finally got a solid stretch of sunny beach time. All shopped out after two nights in Bangkok, we were ready to hit New Zealand. After a long flight with a stopover in Sydney we arrived in Auckland where we stayed for two nights before getting on the kiwi experience. Auckland was suprisingly quiet despite being the largest city in NZ, we went up the sky tower to view the city from dizzying heights and we went to the National Museum where we experienced a Maori Cultural show which was very interesting. Arrived into Auckland at 5:30am on Tuesday after a very bumpy plane ride from Los Angeles. TV on the plane was rubbish so ended up watching the same six episodes of Grey's Anatomy as watched flying from Heathrow to USA! Auckland very dark, cold and wet on arrival. Spent most of the day drinking copious amounts of coffee and walking round the city trying to stay awake. Fell into bed about 7pm after watching first episode of Neighbours this trip!

18/01/2009 Arrive in Auckland at 6am and its pouring with rain. I am pretty tired but the flight were pretty uneventful. London to LA I felt ok though I ended up talking to a Kiwi lady who gave me her life story three times over, I think she was pretty nervous about flying but I was glad to eventually get back to my seat. Day one

I arrived in a fog of travel- no idea what day or time it is! Weather is cloudy and just feel shattered. Arrive at hotel and its great- really new and clean and my room is great- really impressed. I go for a walk to clear my head and try to stay awake!! Dont really take much in though. Go to bed and sleep for 12 hours..
