Chilli's Backpackers Darwin

Hey all, Sitting waiting for my flight to singapore, have had an awesome time in the Top end! We both managed to go on a 3 day camping trip to Kakadu national park, which is nearly bigger than Switzerland! It involved a lot of treking throught the bush in the heat and visiting waterfalls.. plus looking for crocs! It was definately a true aussie experience.. sleeping out in a swag with a croc inhabited river to the right and the sound of bush fires to the left! I also went to litchfield nation...

A brief flight over from Cairns and straight to our dorm at Chilli's Backpackers. Not bad for $16 each a night. First thing we noticed was the heat though. It was absolutely sweltering and the A/C in the room was a god-send. We only had a couple of nights here before driving on out of town towards Alice Springs so our first full day was spent walking up the coast to the old Gaol and having a good bit of fresh sea air in soaring temperatures. 11th August - Darwin So back to Darwin. Minutes after arriving at the Van company, we were being whisked to the local dry cleaners to throw everything - shoes and bags included - into their machines. We were told that it would take two days to do. Two days is two days too many, when you have nothing to wear. So they promised it would be done by 4pm the next day. D*rwin is very boring! Chilli's hostel is gre*t, highly recommend *nyone to st*y here. It's the che*pest *round i think *nd it's b*ng in the middle. There's nothing to do in D*rwin so you h*ve to like the people *round the b*lcony. We're Here!!! We did it!!! I know we've been a bit slack on the blog but we've had a lot to do and have no wireless internet at the moment. We'll fill in the gaps soon I promise. After having torn ourselves away from Cairns we came to Darwin. We weren't intending on staying too long here as we were planning on picking up a camper and hitting the road ASAP to go down to Alice Springs, but we had to wait a few days for one to become available and I'm glad we had a wee bit more extra time.
