Great hostel, comfortable, clean, friendly. Ze is a legend - so helpful, friendly and 100 per cent upbeat. If only he could banish the rain as well. I paid R$28 for a dorm bed.

Today we go to our final stop of our tour... Rio de Janeiro. I am very excited as we have a lot of fun things planned and we also have a nice hotel booked for the last three nights! For once, we got up extra early this morning as yesterday we noticed how nice the breakfast was at our hotel. We wanted to make the most of it before the longish …

I've spent the last few days in Rio. I arrived late on Thursday evening so didn't get to see much of the city as it was dark. But I made the most of my day yesterday by taking a city tour. The first stop in the tour was Christ the Redeemer. We drove part way up the mountain and a bus took us up the rest of the way. I don't think I've ever been up …

...is basically what plays in my head whenever I hear Copacabana, amaze. We have a little stop on the way to get dodgy burgers and amazing magnums (white choc and forest fruits). This stop is also filled with giggles over poor charlottie's video. Love Livvi. We arrive in rio and are super excited, though obviously Jo five minutes after everyone …

          Election Sunday in Ipanema

After a good night's sleep, we woke up quite early and decided to head down to breakfast. Usually, when breakfast is included in a room rate, it's not much to rave about. Not this breakfast! Fresh fruit is a choice of mango, pineapple, papaya, watermelon and honeydew. Six types of bread rolls, two types of bread and garlic or plain toast (albeit...
