Travel Blogs from Brugge
This weekend, I decided to leave the country. I went to Belgium. I went with Brad and Hannah, both American, Adam (Canadian), Will (Australian), and Pietro (Italian), a pretty international group. We spent all day saturday exploring Bruges, a fairly small city near the coast in the Northern part of Belgium. I had never heard of this city before, …
Brugge is beautiful. Its medieval-gothic style architecture, horse & carriage and main square reminded me of Prague. Its many canals lined with boats and houses reminded me of Amsterdam. Both of these places we really enjoyed visiting last year, so Brugge for us was an absolute treat!
I'm not going to lie, I did within the first couple …
Since the film came out, this place has got too many tourists now!
Amazing beers though, the best in the world!
We stayed at the cheapest hostel in town, there were cracked beds with writing on them 'this is what you get in Brugge for 16 euro'... so we decided to balance this experience by having snails and rabbit in a nice restaurant for our dinner :)
Hello everyone! Our apologies on the delay, we've had some internet finding issues as of late... we are doing this post on a phone and will upload pictures later!
After our last post, we headed out to explore Brussels. Our first stop was the main cathedral. We were able to go inside and check out some awesome stained glass windows.
In March, Youn-Hee, Anita and I booked onto the Topdeck Easter Bruges and Brussels tour at the TNT travel show in London. As a result, I yet again enjoyed a great city break to continental Europe.

As we booked through a tour company this trip involved a coach-ferry-coach journey which I was not looking …

TravelPod Member ReviewsCharlie Rocket's Brugge
This is the type of place where groups 18-year old Swedes spend their nights. It's pretty lousy for married people. They're very slow about reception and they obviously hadn't prepared any room because we were waiting in the bar for them to give us a habitation. When we arrived in the room, someone's stuff was already there. So they made us wait in someone elses room for 40 minutes until they could figure it out. But they also were mad at us for being in this other room while they were straightening up. The hostel smells incredibly bad. Breakfast was white bread. The room was dark and hot and didn't have outlets that could fit any kind of voltage adaptor known to man. Everybody was basically a jerk. I've got no love for this place.
