I have been in Barcelona for the past 6 days and really like the city despite 1. It being quite cold 2. It has rained more here than it did for the past week and a half in England (go figure?) and 3. Having people come into the dorm at 1am and talk for ages and then get up at 6am and take like 3 hours to get ready (it's not like anyone is sleeping!!). Aside from that Barcelona is a really great city - I have seen much more of it then last time i was here. I really like Gaudi's work - my favou...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands alanna.hollowayEvery night is a party in barcelona ! From admiring the great works of gaudi to strolling the las rambla on a bar crawl and chilling on the steps of the great Mnac feeling the olimpic vibe barcelona really lives up to its name beeing one of europes greatest tourist destinations. It was already dark when i arrived thus a pretty scary thing for a un experianced backpacker like myself .I walked through the streets of barcelonetta looking for the place where the 2 tall swedish girls live. I awoke...
Barcelona, Spain bigjoSpring Break!!!! Okay so my roommates and I had planned out our 10 days of Spring Break very carefully and we decided that we wanted to go to: Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, and Munich. We started off in Barcelona where we met up with our friend Angie who we knew from our school in Florence. The flight there was a little bumpy, to say the least, thanks to our pilot who we think couldn't have been older than 15. And as always we made a mad dash to the Pisa airport and almost missed our check-in tim...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain clione After some delays we finally left Barcelona airport and arrived at our hostel, which is awesome. The weather is awesome. The buildings are awesome. Basically, Barcelona is a pretty awesome place!
Went for a meal when we arrived, and we could actually sit outside and eat in the evening, which was nice. Also, despite it being the evening in a large city, the streets were not just populated with muggers and tramps, but with lots of normal people. Though it should be said that the first sp...
August 13, 2008 Another travel day! My flight wasn´t until 4:30 and check out was at 10 so I had some time to kill. My original plan was to get up early and head back into town for one last look at Rome. That changed after my day yesterday so I just hung aroung the camp ground. I took the shuttle to the airport and just like in Greece no one is too terribly concerned about time so you never know if you will catch anything. Luckily it is the same on the other end and my flight was about 45 min...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands dfurlerI arrived in Barcelonas main airport in Catalonia to the blistering heat after a decent flight with Thomson Fly. I was knocked out by the heat considering it was 9pm in the evening in November & freeezing cold at home!! I couldn't stop grinning at my good fortune! I got the bus right outside the airport which handily enough was waiting ready to leave, this took me into Barca centre, I instictively knew when I'd arrived as I spotted the huge fountain in the middle of the main square in Pla...

From Brusells, our Virgin Express took us to Barcelona landing around 8pm, with the sun still shining above our head & rapidly coming down, we hurriedly took a train & mrt to our Hostel, Centric Point Hostel at Passage de Gracia. It was quite confusing in the train/metro trip, as we had to change trains/metro a few times. This is the first time in Europe when we asked direction from someone in English & the person couldnt explain to us in English. However, the guy (who was a polic...
Barcelona, Spain iniakupakeWe headed to Barcelona on today. First time to fly ryanair. They fly out of Brno directly to Barcelona, or so they say... They actually fly into Girona, which is an hour from Barcelona. There are buses that run back and forth, so we decided to do it. We knew that it wouldn't be a problem on the flight into spain, but it could be on the flight out, as we left at 7 a.m. This meant we'd have to catch the 4 a.m. bus. After a little thought, we decided we'd check out of the hostel a day early, and...
Barcelona, Spain jneilosuje$! Pariisin metroliikenteeseen verrattuna Barcan metrosysteemi on ihan iisi. Loydettiin suoraan oikeaan junaan ja hostelli oli ihan aseman vieressa. Heitettiin kamat sisaan ja lahdettiin nappaamaan tuttu ja turvallinen McAamiainen. Maha taynna matka jatkui jalleen kohti uutta kaupunkia. Pidettiin reitti aika lyhyena Jukan vaaran rengasvalinnan takia. Hanella nimittain hiersi skandaalit niin pahasti etta joutui vetamaan loppumatkan paljain, karvaisin jaloin. Hostellilla pidettiin pieni pauss...
