Central Backpackers Dunedin

Da ich mich nicht so schnell von Lena trennen wollte, habe ich kurzerhand beschlossen mit ihr nach Dunedin zu fahren fuer 3 Tage. Ok, so ganz kurzfristig war es nicht, musste es ja mit meiner Arbeit im Cafe und im Hostel vereinbaren aber letztendlich hat es geklappt und wir sind am Dienstagmorgen um 10 Uhr in Christchurch losgefahren! * Cadbury World is definitely one to miss: except perhaps the legend old woman who takes it who was flirting with all the men. Quite entertaining. Not enough free chocolate though. Ooooh, but they did give us free netting hats that made Je look like a smurf. Always a good shout.

* Considering Dunedin is a student city, there wasn't that many out drinking: probably because of how expensive it is there! It did however succeed in making me feel old.

Monday 13th July We woke at a reasonable hour and by chance found out we had arrived in Dunedin on chocolate festival week. We were told by the cleaner that there was a famous race taking part today on the steepest street in the world, Baldwin street. On arriving we joined the mass gathering to watch 30,000 cadburys jaffas (See pic) being rolled down Baldwin street, great entertainment (See video clip). Finally made it to Dunedin, somehow!!!! the plan here is to go to Otago Peninsula (OP) and Speights Brewery... and thats all really (they have Cadburys Factory here bt i didnt want to go as Cadburys here and in Aussie is horrible!!!!! bring bk the UK Cadburys.. i miss u!!!!) The end of the bike ride and a well earned rest was in order. So we check in to Central Backpackers in the centre (funnily enough) of Dunedin (pronounced Dun-ee-din). I arrived to Dunedin and finish my short trip with the two Israeli girls. I said in the best backpacker in town. The place is like super flash and the owners is very nice. The first day I past my time in board games like Settlers of Catan and Zombies(I like the last one more).
