We are in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!!! It is truly a beautiful city. We saw a few highlights on the bus tour today. We get off the cruise ship tomorrow morning, check into the Sheraton; then we're on our own for 2 days. I'm sure we'll have wi-fi in the hotel but if not, I'll finish up on Sunday when we get home.

... for partying but we still had a decent time winding down through the streets to samba music pumping from lorries.

We took the two cable cars up Sugarloaf Mountain where we got a great view of Copacabana beach, the bay area and, way way way in the distance, the Christ Redeemer statue. The setting for the city has to the best we'd ever seen, mountains, beaches, green rolling hills and endless sunshine.

... the clouds and rain decided to come back so we stood huddled at first under the takeoff ramp and then the trees and small awning of the cafeteria trying to stay dry and warm.
