DAY 6 Cortina d'Ampezzo to Alleghe 103kms (cumulative total 524kms)
The morning was bright, clear and cool. Over breakfast (after we'd stolen extra food to eat later for morning tea), we reviewed the map and elevation chart for the day's ride. Mountain-phobia. Climb One 1000m over 20kms, a myriad of switch backs that infuriatingly just kept going and going. I tried daydreaming, listening to Deb's ...

The competition was to see who would get there first. No contest really. Driving was the definitely the slow slow option. It was so slow ...

Early start as we needed to catch the 10.00am train from Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station to Milano Centrale Station. Were due in at 11.20am & then needed to purchase a ticket to Milan Malpensa Airport. Obviously looking like tourists, a young woman came up to us & assisted us in purchasing 2 tickets of course for money! Gave her 5 EUR as we were thankful. I did make ...
