Day 10: Florence
We started the day with a major bummer: Bradley left for home bright and early, which makes me really sad. I miss him already and I'm jealous that he gets to see our pooch and smoosh his little Louie face. There are a ton of dogs in Europe, by the way, and people bring them everywhere with them. We have FaceTimed with Lou a couple times to make us (me) feel better... but I digress. Anyway, I miss my husband a lot. Today's drizzly, cold weather matched the gloominess of Bradley's ...
Birthday weekend in beautiful Firenze/Florence
... get sunburnt! So - lessons learned, but I wonder what the next one will be? I flew Ryanair, one of the low cost airlines and had quite a giggle on the return flight. It took just under 2 hours and during that time they served up awful food that you had to pay buy, they tried to sell the new ‘Ryanair calendar’ which was full of dolly birds with hardly anything on (all flight crew apparently), they tried to sell ...
Wednesday is a rainy day!

I then scouted the streets nearby and located the Basilica di San Lorenzo, which we made our way to for an equally cooling three quarters of an hour. We also had time to visit the tombs of Donatello and Cosimo de Medici.

ROMEing Around (Clever...I know)
... a thicker sauce made from eggs and has bacon pieces in it. Really interesting and tasty!
On Thursday morning we went to the Coliseum and explored the inside. It was so amazing to actually see in person. It’s so weird to think about how old it is and all that used to happen there. So much history! Then we wandered over to the Spanish Steps, which might have been one of my favorite places in Rome. The view is breathtaking. At the top there are a bunch of ...
