Geschaffen ...
Leon, Nicaragua casanova_f... couldnīt really carve like on a snowboard,
but you went down facing the mountain, kind of going back and forth
across the hill. Our guide came down really fast, doing all these fancy
turns, and then I realized he hadnīt wanted to give me his board bec he
wanted to show off for the hot Nica girl that was on our trip. Men.
Since he was so far ahead of Ted and the other girl who snowboarded,
however, I asked him if I could take his board and hike up a little to
try it ...
... He ordered two main
courses and polished them off in record time. I donīt think Iīve ever
seen him happier. Well, except for when he talks about the Felice
Brothers.
On another awesome note, as we were walking today, I saw something I
havenīt seen in Central America yet - a movie theater! And thereīs
pretty much nothing I love more than going to movies. Only a few days
ago Ted and I discussed my extreme affinity for going to the movies,
and he said he ...
After a long bus ride from Guate I got into Managua on the 28th and only stayed a night after I was unsatisfied simmilarly to the way I was in Guate. Managua was hit by a huge earthwake a while ago (lets say at least 50 years ago, i think) and thus has no central plaza area. The guidebook described iit as being spread out and full of shopping malls instead of plazas. From what I could see in my limited time there I would say this could not ...
Leon, Nicaragua cgomezblank... in the hills where people are getting busy planting and taking advantage of the rainy season. Every body has many studies and memorial attendance was quadruple that of the publishers. One of our friends from the states just got made an elder here. There is also a pioneer couple from england, and two girls from California serving. The congregation doesnīt have much help as far as brothers go but there is definitely a large army of women here ...
Granada, Nicaragua jasmine818... and found the town of El Castillo. It is a great place to see the Lava flows at night from Arenal. Unfortunatley we had a lot of clouds, so we couldn't see much. The next day we hiked around Arenal National Park and we had lots of good views of the lava flows. We took a two kilometer hike to an old lava flow that happened in the late 1990's and we sat on the lava rock and watched the rock and ash fall down the side of the volcanoe. Arenal ...
Granada, Nicaragua travellerdalton... we paid with a five dollar bill and got back $1. So, we insisted on the right change and learned that we have to pay attention to the officials in Nicaragua, too, just like Honduras... We drove past a huge, active volcano. We thought at first that there were clouds at the top of the volcano, but after watching it get bigger and bigger as we drove towards it, we realized it was an active volcano ...
Granada, Nicaragua courtrand... able to catch the ferry out however. Truth be told, I think it'd be fun to get stuck here. Clay: Today we rode horses to a waterfall at the base of the smaller volcano and tomorrow we're waking up to do some kayaking before we have to head out. Right now I'm sitting about 10 feet from the beach and a donkey that is kept by the hacienda we're staying at trying to eat my guide book off my lap. We eat lots bean and plantains and fruit juice and are as happy as clams.
Ometepe, Nicaragua cleff... we hiked up and peered into Volcan Masaya, which is right next to the one that fumes. Volcan Masaya is a huge crater filled with lush trees. The guide said that Masaya was actually the dangerous crater as gases and heat within had no way to escape. However, I think if youīre anywhere near either when they go, youīre probably screwed.
So, after my week at the laguna, Iīm heading off to Isla de Ometepe and a few quick other places before I fly out in a week and a half.
