Hostel was very nice, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was basic but good -
Fruit, eggs, bread and homemade jam.

I was stilling trying to get my body into the South American time frame so sleeping was difficult. The rooms were quite cold which may have contributed to my difficulties sleeping but otherwise a sufficient, clean and good hostel.

A great couple that owns and runs this places welcomed me in and proudly showed me around. A real treat of beds with down comforters and pillow added to the homey feel. Included breakfast is tons of fruit, eggs, bread, a delicious coffee. Cant reccomend this place more!

Perfect if you're German and loud. Otherwise not

Fantastic location... The rooms are clean, bathrooms are adequate, the lockers and kitchen are a nice touch, and service is very friendly.

However, it should be noted that this hostal is primarily for German tourists. The staff is German-speaking and even the signs posted in the hostal are in German. I stayed there for 6 days and over 90% of the guests were German-speaking. It is very isolating if you are not a German person.

Also, the hostal is very, very LOUD. There is a dining table in the center where everyone gathers all day long (from 8am to well past midnight), VERY loudly shouting and laughing. Everyone stomps around and slams doors with no consideration for the amount of noise they`re making. (I had one roommate who came it at 3am, turned on ALL the lights while I was sleeping, began a loud conversation with someone, then slammed the door right next to my bed. RUDE!) If you like to go to bed early or sleep late, or sleep at all, forget it. The staff does not care how loud everyone is all the time. There is a sign that says the dining table may only be used until 11pm, but this rule is not enforced.

Staff should make an effort to tell people to keep their voices down after 11pm and to be considerate during sleeping hours. The loudness detracts from what otherwise could be a great hostal experience.

Enough said" While I largely agree with his sentiments, my love for detail necessities that I expand. We spent a full day and a small fortune in motorway tolls covering the 700km between Pucon and Pichilemu, a surf town a few hours southwest from …

Valparaiso is an arty, cool, attractively decorated city with colourful houses and cobbled streets and alleyways amongst the hills. It has been referred to as 'The jewel of the Pacific' and the graffiti capital of Chile. It was once one of the most important ports in the world acting as a stop over between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans for trade …

      ¡¡VAMOS CHILE!!

I've been teaching on my own for nearly two weeks now, and I have to say that I absolutely love it. My students have been so respectful, and they've been participating and actually enjoying it. I started taking students into my own classroom last Wednesday, the 16th. Attendance was extremely low that day, and we didn't have to come to sch...
