      Big and clean

The rooms are spacious, but older. There are lockers, the kitchen could be bigger even though there are many fridges and you can also cook and eat in the room upstairs. It misses a sort of lounge and is maybe a bit too small for the amount of people. The location is great and it is still quiet even though it is very centrally located.

The hostel is smack bang in the middle of King and Queen, so an ideal location, and has plenty of room in each of the dorms for you to spread your things around. The lockers in the rooms are big enough for your valuables, and there are larger lockers in the basement for big backpacks, available if you need somewhere to leave stuff on your last day too. The price is reasonable, and they offer free breakfast, although it's pancakes, which gets a little boring after a few days. The staff are helpful, and the sheets are clean, what more could you want?

I was eager to go to Canada for a long time, but it is far from my home country, so it was almost impossible to go there while I had a job in Japan. One of the reasons I wanted to go to Canada was it is an English-speaking country. Actually, it is important for me to go to an English-speaking country theses days, because now I'm studying English …

Upon emotionally saying goodbye to everyone at the airport, we embarked eagerly upon our combined 10 hour flights. This was improved significantly by the exit seats we somehow managed to get for no extra charge. Here we both had ample leg space and a window and aisle seat. Unfortunately the excitement quickly faded, when a very inquisitive young …

On Tuesday I got the seven and a half hour bus from Montreal, which was all absolutely fine minus the aircon that made us all freeze, having no food and the girl next to me threw up everywhere - other than that, all was good! When arriving in Toronto I followed the google directions to the hostel, which was down a little back street, I was greeted …

I woke up to a gorgeous Toronto morning. Blue skies and sunshine but a bit of wind. I had a nice sleep-in and cruised a bit for the first half of the day. I had some bookings I needed to confirm and a few other bits and pieces to do so I had decided not to rush.

I left the hostel around midday and was looking to get along to the Hockey …

My alarm went off at 7.00am. I could have done with a couple more hours of sleep after last nights drama but I had places to be and things to do. The weather had turned and it was raining. Magic !

I got organised and sheepishly left the hotel and headed to the bus stop before the hotel manager saw me. I grabbed a local bus to the Niagara …
