Hey all,
On Saturday we visited Bundaberg which is a city located along our ever south facing journey!!! It is home to Bundaberg rum and ginger beer so we were obliged to go and visit the distillery where it is all made. It was a really fantastic trip and we got to taste all of the amazing drinks at the end! The apple ale was a definite favourite and sarsaparilla was a definite no go! (it is like a liquorice drink!!) We then drove out to a restaurant called Bagara berries for lunch. It...
Left Brissy to do some travelling and am now in a tiny little surf town known as Caloundra. Lovely little place, lots of gorgeous beaches and nice restaurants and bars. The hostel I'm in is cool, a small place, very friendly and laid back vibe, everyone knows everyone else and is very friendly, lots of sharing of drinks and communal dinners. Loads of cool activities going on and a great garden full of hammocks and loungers to chill out in. Most folk here are French though there are a mix of o...

... in the Crocoseum... It seats about 5000 people and probably over half full. After watching some cheesy Irwin family footage on the big screen the show began. To warm up the crowd the lady began a competition between the two sides of the audience. Our side were challenged to do monkey impressions... Jon was delighted at her choice of animal and started doing his best ape antics. Suddenly the lady with the microphone had ...
Caloundra, Queensland, Australia yelleandjonSo, after returning from the mountains, after a quick pie, we got on the Greyhound which took us to Brisbane. John and Ann were picking us up from the bus station and we were a bit early. We started putting our bags together and then I had a quick look around and without either of us realising we were about 2 metres away from each other. We hopped in the car and headed northwards. After a lovely home cooked meal ...
Caloundra, Queensland, Australia natandaidan... towards another seaside town called Caloundra. A few days back we met a couple who were also in a Jucy camper like us. It was their last night though so they kindly gave us all their excess stuff like gas canisters, they even gave us a boogie board which somebody had passed on to them a few weeks earlier. So when we got to Caloundra we parked up the van in a campsite and hit the beach. The waves were pretty big so it was a good laugh with ...
Caloundra, Queensland, Australia alandrach... It was a bit cheesy but the kiddies loved it, they got them up the front dancing away. A couple even got a prize! Then the proper show started. We got snakes, elephants and even birds flying around the audiences head! Then came the part we were all waiting for - the Crocs! Terri, Bindi and little Robert came running out with smoke and dramatic music and it was all very exciting! We then had Monty the croc come out and get fed, leap put of ...

Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia jennyreid... and took them from our hands. At this point there were 6 dolphins and all just playing around. Splashing around on their backs and checking us out. We all swam down the beach for about 45 minutes just almost playing tag with these 6 dolphins. We'd get out run down the beach ahead of them and do it all over. I was really just in shock while swimming with them. Underwater we'd swim as hard out as we could and you'd open you eyes and there they all were just ...
Moreton Island, Queensland, Australia carrera2u... the city more and getting our fill of Thai food, sushi, and Indian food. It had been way too long since I had food this good! The riverfront is very well put together and developed, with nice cafe's at the bottom of tall hotels along one side, leading into the city's botanical gardens which follow the river around in a U shape. One of the main bridges is able to be climbed along the top- unfortunately it ...
