Monteverde Adrenaline Day

A travel blog entry by vincethepince

... After getting geared up with harnesses, helmets and gloves there was a quick safety demonstration before starting. The zip lines ran through the jungle canopy and were all of different lengths. The first three were pretty short, the warm up I guess before things really got exciting. Gina and I were at the front of our group as they joked that we were the guinea pigs. Overall, La Fortuna had loads to offer in the near and surrounding area. With the swimming hole, free hot springs and many hikes and bike ride options, we could have easily killed 4-5 days here, and in hindsight wish we did.

Cloud forest fun

... photo ops; 'patiently waiting mouse', 'built-in fish tank' and 'pineapple of horror'.

The bus trip to Monteverde and Santa Elena provided some incredible scenery during the ascend; lush, deep green fields and valleys. First we had to get there. The bus from Liberia dropped us at an intersection on the highway, where we were to transfer to another bus taking the less common, and much less user-friendly road. 2 buses a day pass here to tackle the 2 hour, 33km ...
