    ... and a lunch break (Moyas Place in Nuevo Arenal which was to die for).

    Our first hotel was Arenal Kioro. The open foyer welcomed visitors and the rooms were well made with the view of the Arenal Volcano as its backdrop. Hot springs scattered the back of the complex and a breakfast was available and for the avid reader, yes there was a book exchange.

    ... a rest stop along the way were treated to the sight of some colourful birds, red and green macaws. La Fortuna is a very touristy town at the foot of one of Costa Rica's active volcanoes, Arenal, and famous for its hot springs. On the way there we passed many fancy spa hotels as well as a huge lake which offered some very nice views from the bus.     ... a tree and also a Tarzan swing. The swing was like a miniature version of a gorge swing where we jumped off a platform 15m high and swung between the trees. It was great fun. The highlight of the whole morning was definitely the final zip line which was almost 1 mile long. You couldn't even see the landing platform from the start. For an extra $5 they let you ride it like superman so we both paid for that. They connected you to the line in the middle of your back ...

    Saw my first sloth of the holiday aswell – banging!

    Then after that brief day, it was back on the road to a small marine park where I hoped to see some whales. I didn’t… and was largely lost most of the time I was there, with some old dear taking pity on me and driving back to the centre because I again fell asleep on the bus and missed my stops!

    Even camping there proved to be pricey ...

    ... Group of 6 American students entered the dorm much to my delight.....not. In for a night of Uber enthusiastic renditions of Miley and pitbull (timber) after happy hour. Dinner at Punto Fusion - on the Main Street, opposite the park. Really delicious food and good value. Fisher bag - rice and seafood. Returned back to the hostel were we spent the night knocking back invitations from pretty much every single member of the USA ...
