      Great stay for backpackers

This was my first experience in a hostel. The staff was super friendly and helpful during our stay. There were always organized events and suggestions every night for everyone. Wifi was free and there was a kitchen facility for guests. The location was not directly in the action, but a very short walk making it perfect.

This was my first YHA ever and I was so disappointed. The rooms were crowded and not enjoyable. Also, my food god stolen. When you come back from a major hike you are really looking forward to a nice meal.... The pool was not inviting and it is a very partying hostel. The staff was not nice either, it really put a shadow on my YHA experience, but thankfully the rest of the YHA were awesome!

My 2 days in Byron Bay are up! Never have I seen so many dreadlocks and tattoos before. I can see why people really rave about it but the weathers been so bad while I've been here and seeing as it's a surfing town, there was very little to do. It absolutely poured down last night and all this afternoon and knowing I'm travelling even further South …

Byron Bay is a very popular tourist place, and it is so much busier than Newcastle and Coffs Harbour. As soon as i arrived i noticed how much warmer it was too, which was good as it had been fairly nippy the past few days.

I took a day trip to Nimbin, the hippy mecca of Australia. It was quite umm... interesting. You had to be careful who …

After spending some time in the city, we decided we wanted to calm things down a bit. We wanted to have a relaxing weekend get-away. There is no place better for that than Byron Bay! We took a two hour bus ride from Bond Uni to Byron by ourselves without making any accommodation plans. This is what travel is about, taking chances and exploring the …
