Well, as ever i only have time for a quick update, I have done and seen so much in the past few days i will keep remembering loads and re-writing this bit so keep checking. We finally made it up to the famous Byron Bay, the backpacker central of the coast. We got there late in the evening but still got a great reception from the mound of backpacker buses waiting on the curb; we could already tell this was going to be a party town. The trip to Byron Bay takes about 2 hours and we also cross a time zone adding an hour onto our current time. Today I took a walk up to Cape Byron where you can stand on the most easterly mainland point of Australia. I was going to hire a bike but took the hostel advice to walk. I went up to the beach and followed the beach until I picked up the Cooks Trail and walked along the purpose built wooden jetty around the coast line.
