Travel Blogs from Airlie Beach

Our journey from Cairns to Airlie Beach was a relativley short one, just 12hrs. We were excited about staying in one place for a week and having a chill out time away from all of the sight seeing and running around. What a beautiful place we had chosen, white sandy beaches, peace and quiet with plenty of sunshine. We had relaxing walks along the …

Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays

A travel blog entry by carrhaughan

It’s a long and tiring bus journey from Hervey Bay to Airlie Beach – 12 hours or so, with cramped conditions and precious little sleep. We arrive early and head up to the cabins we’re staying in which are a little out of the centre (the location is probably a good thing: Airlie Beach is described as a drinking town with a sailing …

The Mums Descend on Oz

Finally, after so much anticipation and counting down of months, weeks and then days The Mums arrived.

The brief outline for their 6 week stay was as follows (complicated this bit):
Week 1- Jackie arrives- mooch around Sydney and recover from jet lag.
Week 2- Sydney appreciation continues, Patrick and Jackie go to the Blue …

Back to main land

Today we went snorkelling before going back to Airlie. The snorkelling spot wasn't the best but they said we were likely to see turtles. None of us did apart from the French guy who saw two!! We were all jealous of him, well the ones who went in the water which I think only five of us did. Back to the boat, then we left, at 9, to go straight back …

Mission and a HALF

A travel blog entry by cpowell86

So last night, well yesterday I was looking at the bus to leave for Airlie, supposed to leave Townsville at 10:45am and arrive in Airlie at 3:10pm. The website says it leaves Townsville at 12pm and arrives at Airlie at 3:10pm, that's fine with me but which one is right?!?!?! I ring Greyhound and they tell me it’s the 12pm and arrives at 3:10 …

My boyfriend and I stayed here with our mums in one of the luxury cabins and it was perfect for us- quiet, air conditioned, friendly, cheap, great location and well equipped.

I'd recommend this place for anyone looking for good quality quiet accommodation.
