Got the boat from Uruguay to BA. Spent over two weeks here. Had a great time. Plenty partying. Went to a Boca Juniors game. Far better than the game in Rio. Unreal atmosphere. Did a week's Spanish course. Stayed in the Clan and Milhouse. Parted company with the English boys but were re-united with Andy and Dave from Floripa. Saw the sights. Weather not great. Flying to Ushuaia today.
Buenos Aires, Argentina 0234303With arms aching from the canoeing, we headed to salta where we stayed the night before we start trekking through the Andes for 2 weeks. It was time to grab our last shower for 2 weeks (not to mention our first shower for a week) and atch up on the sleep before the challenge ahead.
Salta, Argentina angela_louiseSpent 4 nights in total in Buenos Aires on our second visit. Thankfully this time the rain didn´t greet us when we arrived. Stayed in Hostel clan which was a nice enough place and the atmospshere was okay although there was a big bunch of ´reception desk groupies' that just seened to hangout at the reception desk all day long doing nothing....strange when you´re in one of the liveliest cities in the world! Rachel (my sister) arrived from Australia on the same day as us with her boyfriend Sean...
Buenos Aires, Argentina aoifeandtadghI spent one night at the Hostel Clan and i was convinced it was officially a "party hostel". Exactly what we needed for the arrival of the Chef Amedeo or El Cocinero. Amedeo was the only person outside of Corey that agreed to meet me during my excursion of South America. He decided the spot for him would be Buenos Aires, which i thought was a great choice. The first night in Buenos Aires, we spent searching for tickets to the South American Music Conference (www.samc.net), a compilation of so...
Buenos Aires, Argentina aushiroAfter sleeping in most of the day cause of the night before, we finally got the energy to grab some lunch at a nearby kiosk. I was afraid that the trend of spending all our time and nursing hangovers were going to be the theme of this trip to Buenos Aires. It's just amazing how this city can just suck you into the party and never let go. There are people at the Hostel Clan that haven't left for weeks and probably never leave the hostel unless they are going out to a club or bar. It's amazing ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina aushiroFlew to Buenos Aires on a shockingly early flight on Thursday morning. The airport in Salta was like a ghost town, a far cry from what we´re used to at home. Taxi to our hostel on arrival took an age though, the feast of the Assumption was the next day and it´s a day off here so traffic was crazy before the long weekend. Eventually we snaked our way through to our hostel, the Millhouse, in the centre of town. The Millhouse has a reputation for being the ´party´ place to stay here and as we we...
Buenos Aires, Argentina boscoHaving a pretty chilled week, trying to wind down from the chaos leading up to my departure, so nothing planned till Sunday when I go to my homestay family. I have met up with Dan a friend from London who co-incidentally has quit his city job for an extended trip to S. America at about the same time as me. The hostel I'm in is a fiver a night including breakfast and free internet access. Not bad as long as you're a heavy sleeper and don't mind cold showers. Dan is next door in the Mill house ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina dendenOMG had to get the luxury coach back and standard class was fully booked - Easter weekend and all that, but boy was it worth it. I didn~t want to get out of the seat.
Buenos Aires, Argentina dendenBeen a while since the last update, and I blame Buenos Aires for getting in the way!Buenos Aires really is an unbelievable city. It lacks Rio´s beautiful setting and white sandy beaches; but the food, night life, culture, wine and women are all so beautiful it more than makes up for it. It is without doubt my favourite city so far. I am very tempted to change my plans and try to return at some point. We spent our first day in the city in the La Boca region, which is an artist hang out, tango a...
