Brisbane Backpackers Resort

Our journey down from Townsville to Brisbane (via Rockhampton again) gave us the opportunity to witness a couple of natural phenomena along the way. Hi! We're in our last destination in Australia - Brisbane. We'd heard that there wasn't much doing here, so we planned on staying for a few days before our flight out to New Zealand. It turns out that Brisbane is a really pleasant city for passing time in - we've done plenty of shopping in the cheapo shops in an attempt to find some warm clothes for New Zealand! Today we got the bus from Hervey Bay to Brisbane, when we arrived in Brisbane we decided to get the train to our hostel and walk the remaining distance, this wasn't too bad but still very warm to be walking about with our bags.
Once we had settled in, we decided to go out for a walk in Brisbane, we went down by the river and remembered some of the things we had seen before, before returning to our hostel to collect a free dinner, (we found some vouchers in a brochure on the bus!)

Today we went to Explore Brisbane more, we got a free shuttle bus to the bus station and then went for a walk through the town, to a tropical rainforest and back into town before finding an Outdoor Market that we had a look around, we then went to look around the botanical gardens.
The tropical rainforest and the botanical gardens were both very good and had a good variety of things to look at.

I forgot to mention one thing from our Fraser Island Tour.
Early on the second day as we were starting off, we hit a bumpy bit of sand, the bus was bouncing side to side and then suddenly we heard a big crack, the driver had broken the emergency escape side window on a big tree. The tree was hanging over a bit and the bus was rocking lots, unfortunately the two met and just broke the window and dented the frame.

After The Month in New Zealand we all had stuff to do. Fitzy headed to sydney to work and wait till Mary Arrived. Griff Stayed in Melbourne with Sue to Work. After only 2 hours on the premier bus from Noosa, entertained by the great movie, arrive in Brisbane yesterday. Checked in the Brisbane BAckpackers resort on Southbank, not recommendable, because 1. too big, 2. too many cockroaches, 3. a bit off the maintreck, 4. unfriendly staff, 5. expensive internet, 6. 10$ deposit for cutlery ( starving versus run to the ATM). Brisbane City life. After Surfers we went to Brisbane, we left Olof in Surfers, never saw him again. In Brisbane I did look up some family that I got there, we went to dinner at both of them and one offer me and Jonathan work for a week, as carpenter.
