... wenn man zum Beispiel ein Motorrad in ein Land einführt, damit man keine Ungeziefer ins Land bringt. Da es so viel Ungeziefer auf Hawaii gibt, wird man gleich beim Ausreisen kontrolliert.

Bei der Personen Sicherheitskontrolle muss ich mich fast ganz ausziehen und wie jedes Mal zuvor werden meine Hände auf Drogenrückstände überprüft. Vielleicht weil sie im Röntgenbild kleine Plastiksäcke gesehen haben, in denen ich Salz und Waschmittel abgepackt ...

... and it was difficult to rest your head against the seat as the cushion kept your head away from it. Anyway seven hours in and the lights are switched on, breakfast is served and we are all waiting for the last two hours to pass as quickly as possible.

Plonked on a little peninsular like rock, dusted in sand, the waves of the North Shore beaches of Oahu crashing in front of me, a double shandy in the left hand, a 10 pound bag of lichees in the right, the hassle and bustle of Waikiki is miles behind me. It's 4pm and at the end of this blog, it'll be sunset on our final night of our Hawaiian holiday.

This morning we headed on to the freeway and experienced a little bit of local rush hour. It was almost like being on the M25, though not quite. Ness spotted a silver convertible BMW alongside us, with 2 guys in it. We played cat and mouse for a little while, before coming off a slip road.
