5 We Lose a day! Welcome to Australia!

A travel blog entry by ohiolair on Nov 04, 2015

We crossed the international date line and lost a day, arriving into Melbourne on Wednesday the 4th. We were a bit late, but all went smoothly, and would have gone even smoother had we paid closer attention. . . LOL. . . . but we made it into Australia, and thru customs with no hassles other than it being time consuming. And in the arrivals area was waiting my nephew Arion. YaY! Arion! When we were booking the flights I had suggested to Michael that ...

G'day Folks

On our travels we come across a couple of sites where murder has been committed or in one case where a collection of murderers live.

... 10:30.  So I rang my cousin Heather in Alphington, to see if we could call by. Yes, she was awake but not up yet so I agreed we would give her half an hour. In the meantime we ate breakfast no 2 (scrambled eggs) before driving to Alphington. We spent a pleasant hour and a half catching up with Healther, Alan and daughter Lainie, before going back to visit Ian and have lunch with him. It was good to see him again and to let him know that we are always there to support ...

... event based around light.
We started the next day with brunch at a more up-market, trendy cafe. We both loved the food and again found it so much easier finding GF and DF food in Australia compared to any other country we've been to. The menus were usually clearly labelled and if they were not, we could ask the staff who actually seemed to really understand the allergies. After our feast we grabbed a few supplies from the shops and market for our trip. It ...
