As you walk into the hostel you notice the thick film of smoke in the bar area downstairs. The vending machines are all broken. Then I headed up to the 16 bed dorm the shower was quite good (but only one between 16 of us). Also there is one toilet and a sink with no soap. There are no bed lights and the only power points to charge electronics are downstairs - where you have to inhale the smoke as you charge. No kitchen facilities are available. If you want a cheap, central place to crash it is fine. Otherwise I would skip it.

Whilst Fi went to Delft to sip tea and swim in a sea of Delft ceramics I hired another bike, Rusty the Red, and cycled out of town with Marcie and Jorrit. She was a blustery day and the 25km on my wee bike was an effort. It was well worth it to see the little villages and finally find some cows! I had wondered where they hid, given the huge cheese …

As we had decided Amsterdam was a better alternative to Utrecht, the next day we found ourselves on a train headed there. We had already booked a hostel, called Bob's Youth Hostel where Danny had stayed last time, and so once we arrived all we had to do was walk there. As it was only noon we had the rest of the day ahead of us so once we'd had a …

... This was much more of a real club feel-similar to what we would play back home. It was a small, square, dungeon-type room with mediocre sound and the eternal smell of stale cigarettes and booze. This was so far the most quiet of the gigs as far as attendance. But, people did come, and the ones that did really enjoyed it, and they bought some merch. We packed the van, and headed back to Braamt.

    The next day, after ...
